£400M Etihad sponsorship 'not market value'

Postby john@staustell » Thu Jan 30, 2014 10:39 am

After reading the annual report it's clear that fans throughout the world should be outraged about our 10 year deal with Etihad.

Our current accelerating profile and revenue suggests that the deal is already obsolete, and should be re-negotiated asap to at least double the value.

After all the abuse we got, I think that's fair!

Agreed John.

Given Utd renegotiated their training kit deal with DHL, and given PSG's pisstake sponsorship that's been ok'd by Platini - odd that - I feel it needs upping to around the £650m mark.

i wouldn't be surprised if there's some clause or other allowing us to renegotiate. Maybe performance based even.

They mentioned something about that at the time & never gave a final figure. Also the way the sponsorship of the campus is involved etc.

I doubt we actually need to tell anybody anything else at this point. We will unleash the bad news of how much money the next phase brings in when we need to (that's if ffp still exists).
