Walters got very lucky, saw him playing in Div2 for Chester after a journeyman existence, but he was on fire, one of the best players I've ever seen at that level, he moved to Ipswich not long after and then ended up at Stoke so he's earned his place at the top table like Ricky Lambert and Grant Holt

He scored 23 goals in the Dutch league last season. Just shows the difference in quality.

What a fucking sponge!

Disagree. His career stats read 449 games and 184 goals. In the Premier League, 37 in 79 for Charlton, 25 in 79 for Spurs, 36 in 63 for Sunderland and 25 in 64 for Villa.

He's not the greatest player for sure but has consistently scored goals throughout his career.

As said all the players are poor imo. Personally think if they have been selected to represent country they shouldn't be on this list. My understanding is that its for players who shouldnt be paid as highly for what they do. Don't misunderstand me, I wouldn't have selected any of the players mentioned, Downing Heskey Carroll Welbeck Young Cleverly et all. However they have done enough at club level in some shape or form to be considered worthy of an International call up. Just my interpretation

Finally a sensible nomination! We're not talking players who are massively overrated eg Phil Jones and Welbeck. We're talking players who are utter, utter shit and had no business playing football such as Bramble.

Today was one of those rare occasions where he was gifted a goal, but the general purpose of Victor Anichebe eludes me.

He's a striker. His record in the Premier League reads 19 goals in 141 games. West Brom paid £6m for him.

Let that sink in for a minute.

6 feckin million pounds, for a striker whose best return were the 6 goals in his last season for Everton.

Absolute dogshit.

no wonder Guidetti is so pissed at not being picked when Walters is ahead of him in the pecking order - I only have a soft spot for Walters from where he came from, but of late he is punching above his weight & doesn't cut the mustard
