They looked tired and idea less tonight.

OUT - Nastasic isn't strong enough
Demichelis nowhere near mobile enough or disciplined enough to play at this level now
Dzeko can't make a goal, can only finish 1 touch and needs 8 chances to get a goal.

PLUS - Hart looking back to his best
Vinny - you can see how much it means to him
Navas has settled and is always a threat to create
Jovetic I get it now. Watch him he'll be great for us.

Pellers got it wrong tonight but I think he knows the issues by trying to sign Fernando and mangala last week. Centre back and centre mid a priority.

We were shite and lucky to get away with 0-1. Injuries caught up with us. Aguero, Nasri and Fernandinho would have made a difference. Can't understand Demichelis ahead of Milner again unless its fitness. Still 2nd. Shit happens.

Lets not be to hard on the team, look at the facts. Mourhino had the luxury to pick a team to do the job from basically a fit squad. We had no Aguero, nasri and fernadinho all huge players for us. To compound the problem Garcia injured and Milner probably not fit enough. Forced to play Demichelis in defensive mid role, Jovetic only just back and we had very few options. Full squad against full squad would be a diferent outcome me thinks.

I'm really sick of watching Dzeko.

His general gameplay is absolute shite. He does score goals but mostly against rubbish opposition and having been given a million chances.

Maybe the best thing to have happened to us. The two draws by arsenal and chavs last round gave us breathing room, we took our eye of the focus and tonight was the result. They will all learn from this, we have to earn this and tonight they realised how hard and focused they have to be. It was an off night and we were due one at home, it's a wake up call. I fear for the next team to play us. Vinnie will be pissed and that's what we were missing tonight.
Hoping our new rollercoaster gives us the thrill of our lives.

Did you see the bench...........worst bench city have had in a few years, Managers would rather stick a half fit senior player on the bench in case of emergency than a bench full of academy players. Perhaps he just didn't want to risk it, there really can be no other explanation

That has to be the positive. The players will be pissed and want to bounce back.

FA cup game will be a cracker.

Pellers had some problems here, but now we can see why he needed Fernando from Porto.

Dzeko.

Why is it when he is 5 or 6 yards out with time to think before shooting does he consistently miss- hit shots, sky shots and fail to even work the keeper ?.

His conversion rate must be fucking appalling, generally needs 10,11 good chances before he shins one in or miss-hits one in to the back off the net.

He frustrates the shit out off me.

Not a fan of Dzeko but Silva missed two very decent chances tonight.

Milner must have been injured, there is no situation I can think of where any sane person wouldn't have had him on at half time, probably for Dzeko or negredo initially, with jovetic on for Demi later in the game once we had regained control of midfiled

Demich should be no where near the starting line up . Ever.

I had no problem with the defeat, shit happens.I had a problem with the manager not rectifying a glaringly obvious problem for 94 minutes. Was very reminiscent off Bayern Munich at home.Maybe he really does not know any other way to play,i don't know, but doing nothing to try and sure up the midfield was criminal.

You are not allowed to point the these things out. Edin had to work hard to try and create something out of poor crosses or corners. Yet he gets blamed for this rather than blaming the guy who put the poor pass in.

Good point. It also looked to me like Yaya couldn't be arsed because he had demich alongside. Maybe i'm wrong but he didn't seem to give a toss in midfield tonight.

However we stuck two +30 year olds in the middle of the park against youngsters. What was he thinking ?

Edit : very competent youngsters

Spot on, he was feeding off scraps tonight. Didn't put himself about as much as vs Tottenham, still find him an infuriating enigma in terms of effort, but I don't think he stood a chance tonight, especially when we started drilling 50 yard balls at his head

For the first 75 minutes, every time he got the ball there were two or three players on him immediately.

We were abysmal. Demichelis in midfield just wasn't right. He was picking the ball up where Fernandinho would but instead of looking to set up an attack he was passing back in defensive mode. That seemed to unsettle us.

Pellegrini saying Milner wasn't fit Negredo wasn't properly fit Jovetic not fully fit Garcia out Aguero out Nasri out Fernandinho out. All fair points but we needed an extra body in midfield rather than playing the twin towers. It just didn't work and predictably so.
