Mourinho has it set up perfectly for himself, with all of his media comments in the last few days.

If City win, he's already told us all several times that would happen as we are "far more advanced and ready" to win the title. His squad, apparently, aren't ready yet. So if Chelsea pull of a win, it goes from being 'Chelsea beat City' to 'Chelsea secure one of the most groundbreaking, unthinkable results in football history'.

HOWEVER, what I'd like to know is how Maureen can justify saying Chelsea aren't ready. Look through their squad - experienced pro's with years and yearsof success (Terry/Cech/Cole/Lampard/Eto'o), some of the most exciting young players in the world (Hazard/Oscar) all complemented by an incredible deep squad of internationals. All of this managed by a man who's won more trophies than I've had hot dinners. Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has dismissed Jose Mourinho's claims that Chelsea are still not big players in the title race.

Chelsea beat Pellegrini's team 1-0 at the Etihad Stadium on Monday night to draw level with second-placed City on points, two behind leaders Arsenal.

However, Mourinho insisted after the match that City and Arsenal remained favourites for the title, describing his side as a "little horse that needs milk and needs to learn how to jump".

However, for the first time Pellegrini has opted to return fire, implying that Chelsea's significant outlay in the transfer market renders Mourinho's remarks debateable.

"Maybe it is a small horse if the manager thinks like that," said Pellegrini. "It can be a little horse, but very rich.

"This is the team that has spent most money in the last 10 years, it is the team that spent most money this year, and the team that spent the most money in the transfer window. So, little, but rich."
