You are deluded if you believe that all the players who have joined us in recent years did so because of a burning passion to play for us. They may have a developed a passion for the club during their time with us, but until 4/5 years ago none of Europe's top players were clamouring to play for us. A chance to join an exciting project, coupled with a significant pay packet, is what convinced them, but that's not passion.

I believe that is changing slowly as we establish ourselves amongst the elite but but don't delude yourself that it's been that way in the past.

Yes, in the past I would have been less inclined to have that view, but with the evolving status of the club, as you say, we should be in a better position to stand our ground than we have been able to do in the past.

Isco was a replacement for Nasri from last season, & that would have been a big upgrade. This season's version of Nasri is better than Isco, so not signing him has worked in our favour.

I'm sure we'll go back if Pellegrini wants us too and I would imagine he would.

Manchester City are lining up a deal with bring Spanish star Isco to the Ethiad Stadium in the summer in a move worth £30m, according to reports.

Daily Star Sunday claims that the 21-year-old Real Madrid attacker is unsettled at the Bernabeu after finding himself on the fringes of Los Blancos under Carlo Ancelotti and is said to be seriously considering a move to City in the next transfer window.
