He's hardly lazy. He had to get involved in the play to make the fuck ups he did.

Negredo's poor form started before the injury. The West Ham hatrick was a beautiful rose in a field of cowpats. The worrying part is he doesn't look interested. When he wasn't getting service before, he went and made things happen. He hasn't done that for a while now.

Interesting observation & I would agree with it all. More worrying is WHY?

Am I the only person who thought we saw the pre-injured Neggers in the Barca game? Missed a couple of chances, but his effort was there for me. He has been shit since returning, but I thought he played well last week.

Yes. He tried hard like always but his touch was off and missed the only real chance he had with that header. He wasn't helped by the lack of service but he's looked nowhere near as sharp recently.

We shouldn't be having a go at Negredo, just like we shouldn't at Dzeko but when both play crap why is it Dzeko who gets the abuse whereas Negredo gets an easy time of it and people are willing to make excuses for his poor form?

Barely touched the ball, didn't look interested and contributed nothing. Now I'm not suggesting we all slag off Negredo or get on his back but we shouldn't for Dzeko either, who the miss a side, played better and got more involved then Negredo. As for the worst miss ever? No, how about Tevez against Sunderland? or Torres v Rags? equally shite misses. yes it was a terrible miss, but these happen to players, even Messi and Ronaldo. It happens. Why must our fans have a boo boy? Dzeko's scored a lot of goals for us this season and some very important goals down the years.

Beautifully put BRF. Lovely to see such a well measured and deeply considered summation - you'll piss the pantomime dames off if you keep acting so damn sensible!

The worst miss ever was by me. It was ON THE LINE. Not 1 foot out , or 1 yard out, but ON THE LINE , and I managed to keep it out - beautiful. If only the cameras had been there

It was an awful miss from Dzeko but whilst he didn't have a great game, Negredo was far worse.

Negredo has been non-existent for quite a while now and isn't doing anything to warrant a place in the side. We urgently need Aguero back but Dzeko has been the better performer than Negredo lately (even if that isn't saying much).

I remember Wilkins missing an absolute sitter for an England XI v City @ Maine Rd. c. '82/84 , as a warm-up to either a Euro or a World Cup.
One yard out, open goal , he was unmarked , and he put it into the Platt Lane end. Must have become completely disoriented by finding himself in an opposition penalty area

What about that Newcastle player who managed to land the ball on top of the net from 1 yard out. He'd never be able to repeat that if he tried.

It made sense to take Negredo off. I dont think he's fully fit yet and certainly below par. If we lose him Dzeko will have to play all the time!

Dzeko can hold his own 'worst miss ever' competition.

I think that some strikers like Dzeko need some sort of challenge to be put against them to actually start scoring. With the absence of Aguero, Dzeko found himself in a safe position and started missing easy chances. He needs to feel threatened that he is fighting for his position and might lose it.

I remember when he was called a super sub he came on and started to score goals because he wanted to prove that he's not just a sub but a first team player.

No matter how you look at it, he missed an open goal from 3/4 yards out with no other player near him. A dreadful miss. He is not the first player to miss an open goal, nor will he be the last. Most, if not all strikers, have had similar misses when it would have been easier to score. The worst ever? Thats very subjective but it has to be up there, simply because most of the 47000 in attendance probably would have scored.

However he was in position to miss. I'd rather my striker missed a few but didn't let it affect his positioning to be there for the next chance. Whats the betting he scores in the final next week. I for one will be cheering him on with the rest of the team.

Almost everybody usually cheers him on to start with. If people stop cheering, it's usually down to something he does.

I'm starting to think he has mental problems. Some of his behaviour on the pitch is weird & defies logic. It's as if he goes through spells wher he is scared to play, spells where he is angry, spells where he 'can't be arsed anymore' & spells where he works like fuck, & spells where is loving it & thinks he will score with every touch, & it can all happen in the same game.

He seems imo, to be a mental case.

Dont doubt that everyone will start to cheer him. I wont be one who gets on his back is all. Maybe he has mental problems. Lets hope its just frustration at not scoring

He proper twatted the post after the miss. I am surprised he was able to connect with that! Still....I do like the Big Bosnian.....he will get us a vital goal before the season is out mark my words. If he doesn't I'll be singing:-
