Seriously ...? Did you ever play football? How is he supposed to "hold back" a 7-8 stone defender sliding in?

Yes, yes I have. It was a bad miss.

Oh give over. That was a wonderful tackle. If that was Kompany for us you wouldn't be saying the striker should have scored.

I see the Dzeko boo boysare out again. He was far from our worst striker on the pitch today. Remind me what Negredo or for a matter of fact what Sergio did today?

I haven't said anything about anybody, nor got on Dzeko's back. I've simply stated it was a bad miss. Dzeko actually did well today, put himself about and caused a nuisance. But there's no getting away from the fact that whichever footballer could've got on the end of Milner's ball, they would be guilty of failing to score an easy chance. 5 yards out. Of an open goal. With the defender behind him.

If anything it's shit defending. Lost his man and lost position. It was a classic Micah tackle if anything, fuck up everything beforehand and redeem yourself with a last ditch heroic effort.

None of our strikers were good today. Negredo was woeful. But interestingly, you always pop up to defend Dzeko and take a dig at the rest of our strikers. Why?

Not going to turn on the manager, but the players were fucking awful - Demi - liability and Lescott, Richards can fuck off with him - hopeless and I hope lessons are learnt for next season

Curse of the League Cup strikes again. Our season could be over by Saturday afternoon if we're not careful

In recent years we have had a load of great football days and some fantastic highs so today we have to take a real low. That was a poor performance and the result is one that has been coming for a while. The last timer we played really well was...... Spurs away which is 6 or 7 matches away.

Is it down to being tired or was it complacency.Probably a bit of both but certainly making a shocker error to gift the first goal didn't help.I just hope we can beat Hull next Saturday as I am effectively writing off Barca.

Did we play well? I thought we were OK, but no more.

Chelsea were a shadow of the team who beat us and I do wonder whether Mourinho effectively threw that game to concentrate on the league and give us another game to worry about.

Because our fans are incredibly unfair to him whilst giving Negredo or a lot of others an almost free ride when they play just as bad.
I don't like having a dig at our players, but there has to be some consistency. Last week Dzeko was slated on here in the league cup final for his lacklusture performance. Negredo's today was very similar.
At the moment Dzeko is missing everything, whereas Negredo just isn't touching the ball at all.
Both are poor but at least Edin's actually getting involved a little bit.
There seems to be a cult on here though who just love coming out to mercilessly slate certain players.

I thought we played well and kept Hazard very quiet. I can't believe anyone doesn't want to win a match - as a player the opportunity may never happen again

We lost due to a number of thingss.

We put out our worst back four. Predictably they were all terrible. Richards the worst of the lot. His non tackle for Wigans second is breathtaking. Compounded by Cliche and Pants.

Djeko managed to spurn 3 great openings.

Our lack of pace was disturbing today but I knew we would struggle when I saw the team.

We can get away with playing the odd Djeko, Lescott, Garcia, Richards, Cliche, Pantillimon..... But all at the same time in the same team? That spells defeat. and of course we didn't get away with it.

My biggest fear is that it will destroy the rest of the season.

When was the last time a City keeper saved a penalty? As soon as we concede one I put it down as a goal straight away without even bothering to hope for the best.

That's a long time. Especially seeing we seem to concede so many.
