If you were the Sheikh what would you do?

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

If you were the Sheikh what would you do?

Postby michaelcityfan » Thu Mar 13, 2014 7:24 am

I went away on holiday at the end of Feb. at that time we were a sure bet to make progress in the fa cup, I get back to a computer today and see we are out of the FA cup losing at home to Wigan? , out of the CL (not such a surprise given the first leg) Sergio is injured AGAIN, we appear to be hopeless AGAIN, Lescott, Demichellis and Nasti screw up and hand games to the opposition Negrado had faded the other strikers have dried up goal wise.

Do you think we are going to win the league?

So if your the owner what would you do should sack the manager unload the shit defence and buy and buy another one? or stick with what you have and try something else. I have supported city since 1963 and was used to the high and lows but now after all that time and effort and money I was really beginning to believe our old ways were behind us. So what you would do to sort this.

Time and experience

Not sure what you are expecting, but there is no need for any sort of response from the owner

Pellegrinis only mistake is actually trying to win every competition we entered, and finding the squad stretched a bit thin at the critical time. I thought we were fucking magnificent last night in the circumstances, but learned a lesson about how you need to 'compete' against the established elite Lescott was brilliant last night, my biggest concern is that we are going to let him go for free and keep the other two clowns

for me personally, i would have said to pelle domestic trophies first and foremost, especially losing 2-0 at home to the spanish diving cheating fucks.
as it stands now were not playing well havent done since before christmas, so winning regularly in domestic competitions is a must. i would suggest anything but a win on sat and its looking like a poor season especially the way we looked at the start of the campaign

I agree mate. I personally think we need to go and and at least get back to winning ways, with decent football to satisfy our owners. Pellers probably made a rod for his own back with the good stuff last ....... er ....... I cannot remember the last time we played really well.

Just goes to show that you can have the best squad and not compete on all levels.

Carry on with the Project.

Sort the defensive issues out in the Summer and hopefully have a true world class manager in place to complete the jigsaw.

Some finally speaks sense. You don't win them all, we've improved and highlighted a need for a little more investment. It takes time and we're doing well.

I was with until 'The counts only mistake is trying to win everything'.

If he would have put out a crap team in the League cup and got knocked out early doors and then knocked out of the FA Cup earlier than we did.Everyone on here would be calling for The Counts head he has done right by me trying to win the lot he needs to adjust the quality and balance of the squad.

We should have prioritised the FA Cup this week. That's the only mistake.

I'm the summer say fuck it and drop some serious wedge on a beast of a centre back and De Jong

Turn up on Saturday and support Pellers and the players.

The season is far from being done. There are 12 games left which will have a big impact on not only this season but the next as well. Giving their full backing to Pellers and the team will help in our cause.

Anyone calling for his head needs to check in at the loony bin. First season. Inherited a somewhat disjointed squad and has got players playing again, (Nasri & Kolarov to name two) and has won at least one pot. Yes he's made mistakes but he will learn from them. Next year will be even better.

But a majority share in Barclays. Then make George Osbourne kneel in front of me wearing a basque whilst I punched him in the face on live TV, otherwise I'd give the shares to the Socialist Workers' Party.

Or did you mean about the football?

Since the end of February we played three games. The first one saw us win the third trophy in my lifetime. The second one was a bit of a mess and saw us go out of the FA Cup and the third was already over barring a miracle. Nasti didn't play in any of the games mentioned and Sergio was barely back to fitness anyway before your holiday. The first paragraph is very confusing, not least because a flight is the only time I have ever spent a significant length of time in the dark about what is going on with City.

I think we will struggle to win the league. As I did when we lost at Arsenal two seasons ago. If the 'old days' are behind us, it probably indicates that we will end the season in poor fashion with no drama. Get behind the team for a huge push, the league is still in our hands and Chelsea are not immune to pressure. Now is not the time for finger pointing or looking for examples with which to proclaim 'I told you so' (not that I'm accusing the OP of this)
