If we would have kept Tevez the quadruple could have been a reality. Stupid decision.

I don't think so. Although I agree letting him go was a mistake.

We all bitch about the CB sitch but honestly if our strikers hadn't gone AWOL we would be going back to Wembley and we would have throttled Barca. And be ready to rip the league apart by 5 or 6 pts by the end.

No one better than Tevez at creating something from nothing IMHO. We saw him do it countless times and we are missing that trick in our repertoire at the mo.

Tevez is one of the most unique players. He doesn't have electric pace, he's not super strong, he's not the most technically gifted or the best finisher but he just has enough of everything to have made him one of the best all round football players in recent years.
A truly wonderful player. Although he's not as 'gifted' as Aguero, in terms of what he brought to the team on the pitch, I may even put him slightly above Sergio.
Having said that, we were far more than a Tevez away from beating Barca though. That was down to the negative tactics in the first leg mixed with an individual mistake underlined by the corrupt refereeing.

He is slightly better than the Aguero we often see, but nowhere near the fully fit version of Aguero. When 100%, Aguero chases like Tevez but faster, but we only see that a few times per season, because he can't.

Tevez was a much more like for like replacement for Aguero than Dzeko or Negredo but if Jovetic hadn't been crocked all the time, it probably wouldn't be so noticable.

I agree he's out too much, but rarely fit is a stretch. Problem is he's so good and so relied upon, we can't afford for him to be out the amount if time that he is.

The best player City have had in my time watching them. Madness that they wouldn't try to keep hold of him.

Your point about the refereeing is absolute bollocks. I can imagine it's spouted off in every other topic on this board at the mo. Fact is the refereeing was shoddy for both sides, hardly a reason for a poor City result.

I very, very rarely blame referees.
I don't blame him for the result and yes he gave big decisions against both sides.
However the small decisions all went to Barca, every one of them.
Pique was holding on to Dzeko's shirt, yet they get the free kick. Iniesta flopped like a fish when Toure tackled him fairly and was running away with the ball. They get the free kick.
Every time we tackled them, they seemed to get the decision.

Not saying we would have won otherwise, but we potentially could have had a lot more attacks and chances if they weren't awarded a free kick every time we fairly won the ball.

Pellegrini tried to get him to stay but the little prick was trying to force his way out for a long time. Great player but an absolute wanker, who knows what may have happened if he stuck around, could've been Riquelme all over again for Pellegrini.

Agree with all posters about his injury record.
What gets to me though is why he and/or the staff didn't bring him off much earlier. He himself said it happened very early on and as we know he contributed little from then on. Putting up with a virtual passenger against Barca at the Nou Camp is a terrible decision and could even have cost us the game.

Maybe he kept him on as a passenger on purpose, all our best spells came when we went down to 10 men :-D

One of those players that needs wrapping in cotton wool. He is so so important to us. I get the feeling we are rushing him back. Imo its one of the main reasons i dont think we will win it this year.

He will have been looking forward to playing at the Camp Nou & probably hoped he could run it off.

Stupid & a bit selfish, but that's footballers.

Tevez could have IMO been the greatest ever player to play for City but he messed that all up with his constant whining and transfer requests. Was captain of a club building towards great things and for some reason had a massive melt down. Really sad as before all the antics was really well loved at City. He ruined my holiday in the Maldives in 2010 with his transfer request.

he was always who he is at every club i think....the fact that he came to us from them in the first place should have told us the kind of character we were dealing with....

still...one of my faves still. Watching him score like crazy for Juve still seems like your Girlfriend Revenge porn in some way.

What way? i can't be sure, but i just apparently needed to say that. For some reason.

cheers

Ronaldo plays in the majority of Real's games. Messi was similar for Barca until this season.
