Just spent two very pleasant weeks in Barbados. Thoroughly enjoyed the Cap 1 cup win. Anyway, the beech bar everyone goes to is always rammed full of crowing Bajan rags, a real fucking pain given none have ever seen them in the flesh. Right bunch of glory hunters, all wearing full kit. Went in yesterday to watch Arse v Everton. United were on the other screen. Well done Moyesy. Not a single punter watching Brom v Rags, not a fucking one!

Davie might have overplayed his hand today. Can't see them doing better than seventh now.

Do they get the Europa Cup for that? And if so, do they have to play the qualifying round?

Seventh won't get Europa this year.

Whoever wins the FA Cup will get a place, or if Arsenal win it, then the FA Cup runners-up will get it.

As we won the League Cup, and will finish in the Champions League spots, the Europa place for the League Cup will go to 6th in the league.

Not quite yet, but I do think he'll go if they go out of the C/L and we tear them a new one.

I asked in another thread: will Sheff Utd be eligible for European competition if they reach the final? I'm pretty sure third-tier clubs didn't used to be able to represent England in Europe...

Also, more pertinent to this: which would affect United more financially; playing in Europa or not? I've never been sure how many season tickets of theirs include compulsory European & Cup games. If this policy were to continue, I can imagine a severe decline in ST sales, with 'real' fans who are unable to make midweek fixtures less inclined to buy season tickets, due to the increased availability of non-ST matchday tickets, as the agents who've always picked up spares for holiday companies, etc., won't be doing so any more...

Add to this the expense of policing for the qualifying stages, when thousands of "fans" of mid-level clubs from nondescript leagues flock en masse to the Swamp matches. In the case of clubs that potentially usually get 800-1000 fans at most, I'd guess there'll be a fair few troublemakers thrown into the mix with over 4,000+ away tickets having to be made available, and the police and FA will be well aware of this beforehand. And this is for 2 rounds that they will have to play before the group stages. Throw in the 3 group games as well, and that is 5 games where I'm sure OT will be operating at a loss...

Another class performance today. In the words of Paul McCartney, "It's getting better all the time"

They were so bad today. Seeing players like RVP, Shrek and Mata not being able to string three passes together actually pissed me off. I got the same feeling I do when watching Stoke.
Liverpool beat them 3-0 with a central midfield of Jordan Henderson and Joe Allen.

Hard to believe how poor they are now. 5-0 would have been a fair result I'm pretty sure.

I think this is looking really grim now.

The MUEN has pretty much cracked & you could tell by Nev***e's commentary that he thought Moyes' team selection & tactics was beyond fucking hopeless. He was close to openly calling it as being clueless.

If he thinks like that, & his brother works alongside Moyes, then it's pretty much nailed on that the people working with him think he's got no idea. That probably means Sir Bacon realises he's fucked up as well & therefore probably the Glazers do too.

I'm sure they could give Olympiacos a right seeing to but if they play like yesterday, they will 'have a mountain to climb' (you can have that one for free Tyler).

Then they will have to find a performance v us. If we turn up & play properly, we could effectively seal his fate, if it isn't already sealed.
