Just watched the music montage on the official site, I couldn't have been happier when he got his first goal. Has really deserved one for a couple of months now and the moment he stops trying to put his laces through the ball, he scores two.

But the best thing about him is - already you can see how much he loves playing for city. And not just him.

He seems like a genuinely good person. The feature with him kicking a ball around with his kid (and really all his interviews) show how humble and honest he is.

I'm proud that not only do City players have great football skills, almost all of them have real integrity.

And that is why you can't help but like the guy. All the team seem to love him, the boss obviously loves him and those who may have doubted him at the beginning are growing to love him.

aside from his shocking mishit today, how fucking good is he?

ive especially noticed it when we've gone down to 10. his defensive ability is magnificent. im sure he runs just as much as Ramires and Oscar. one moment he's heading off the line, the next hes charging into the box with a shot on goal.
I'm not really a City fan. I'm just here for attention.

So out of character for him, I would have bet on back of the net every day, would still bet it tomorrow, don't quite understand what happened there.

I thought he was very sloppy in the beginning of the game. Many miss-hit passes, and often caught on the wrong foot.

But he definitely stepped his game up and showed what a fantastic player he is.

I know it's hindsight and all that but some posts on the first page are amusing.

To be fair, he didn't appear to contribute in a lot of games by the time the thread started. Even now his contribution could easily be missed if you aren't looking carefully, but his value to the team dynamic is pretty incredible

He was massive today I just hope he and Toure can both click at the important games in a few weeks time
It may be my last year as a season ticket holder as it just doesn't seem the same with so few English and local players (but I said that last year)

Another polished performance. After a good world cup we will see the best of him next year. The modt consistent summer signing. Beast still just shades for me, though if both players form continues for next eleven games Fern will be ahead. Aguero will be player of the year for us but Fern will be there or therabouts and he has potential to have a storming end to season

Beast has been great but not only has in been out of form for a while but he seems to be a confidence player and is not as vital to the team as fernandinho has shown to be this season.

When he was out we often get badly exposed in defence and his knack for not just making a key tackle has been massive as is his ability to turn defence into attack. His work rate is through the roof and allows for yaya to play to his strengths more

Without negredo our attack can still thrive with nasri, silva and aguero, especially on ne road where i think the beast is not as effective as ihas been our 4-4-2ish formation.

Regardless the beast is a close 2nd to me.

I think we will need

I think he's brilliant.
However I do get the feeling sometimes that part of his attacking game can be sacrificed to accommodate Toure.
Obviously not a bad position to be in. I can't really remember Toure driving forward with the ball on one of those barnstorming runs for a while whereas Fernandinho does it quite often now.
It's working for us but I'd be really intrigued to see what Fernandinho could do with his defensive shackles off.

He tends to bottle the last man too. He runs at pace, nips round two or three players, then looks for a pass.

I would like to see him go straight for the penalty area sometimes, ala Colin Bell & then have a shot.

Still cant see it , lol. Gives em a pen, misses a sitter and passes to people in awful positions. Feel like the kid who saw the king was naked.Must'nt be looking closely enough.Great running ability but how often does he use it?Nick's the odd ball but too often in front of it. Prefer Jordan Henderson if I'm honest, lol
