Why doesn't it surprise me to see you posting that. You're like a tabloid's wet dream.

He was effectively shooting at an open goal given the bollox the keeper made of it. It bounced 2 yards out from the goal, if the keeper was any use he would've back pedalled and had a simple catch.

Goal of the season my fucking arse.

Rooneys was a cracker but not a patch on the lad from Norwich, what a superb hit that was

Now that is a contender no doubt.

I just can't put Rooney's in that category because it was the keeper's fuck up as much as his execution that made the goal.

Oh god, OF COURSE SHREK IS GOING TO WIN IT.

You in your little world can put it in whatever category you like, you can bemoan the tabloids, but it's so fucking plainly obvious that will be the winner because the media will see it done.

I never said he wasn't going to win it, I know he will because I know how the fucking numpties operate.

What the fuck are you talking about my "little world"? I'm giving my opinion.

And the highlighted portion was your ringing endorsement of phips opinion no doubt. You then went on to allude that while the Norwich lads is a contender, that Shreks is not.

You were a cock to him for stating exactly what will happen, did you expect no-one would call you on it?

What???!!! I merely stated that it didn't surprise me to read Phips saying it was goal of the season because from reading his posts in general he is the type of sheep that buys into all the guff the media spout. In other words he didn't make that statement based on what will happen, he made that statement in the belief that it deserves to be goal of the season.

I was giving my opinion that I didn't believe it to be goal of the season and outlining why, I'm not saying Shrek's goal won't be a contender, I'm saying it shouldn't be.

correct me if im wrong, but an opinion is singular to an individual. yes, an opinion can be shared, but there is no possible way to discount an opinion. out of every "contender" in the league season, his volley from basically midfield is my winner. i dont give a shit if the keeper was out of position. how many people can kick the ball off the volley from there and make it go in?

If you think Rooneys was better than this then what are you basing it on?
Technique?
Power?
Accuracy?
Or just simply length from goal?

If it was all about length I would be a very happy man...

I am!

I would like to hear what Phips bases his "opinion" on though, because apart from Distance, Tetteys goal is better in every way, even the keepers positioning is good.

I'd say it may be based partially on him being a rag loving, media sponge.

But then again, I hate the cunt, so my opinion might not count.

Show off!

I do suspect it is all about media hype and some people are easier to brain wash than others, that Norwich goal is sublime and should be getting repeated time and time again. But because it isn't the scum, it isn't Shrek and it isn't an England international that scored it we'll rarely hear or see about it - in fact it will be forgotten by most as it isn't what the media want us to remember or celebrate.

In truth, one of the best goals this season without a doubt - an on-coming defender, perfect technique with players to beat and a keeper to beat - on the volley where as most players would have trapped it and had a thought about it.

Any goal keeper who lets a shot in from the halfway line was obviously completely out of position or completely crap. Either way, merely judging it on distance from where it was struck is ridiculous.

Maybe basketball boy should watch the crossbar challenge on Soccer AM.

He'd be truly astounded.

Your an idiot but so no one should be surprised you would come out with something like this. Even the rags say it was pure luck as he tries this shot quite often so one was bound to go in. Kind of like your posts if you make enough one is bound to be decent and not the normal shit you post.

Ah ! So he shoved the defender first. In full view of the ref and then wellied it with his shin pad again. He should play in defense , that was a great clearance.

Hardly a wonder goal was it ? Almost bounced over the bar. Did he call for a mark beforehand?
