Best worst-case scenario

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Best worst-case scenario

Postby Alioune DVToure » Thu Mar 27, 2014 10:33 am

I think I must be in the minority on here in not hating Liverpool too strongly. Which prompts my question: If we had an unexpected disastrous run-in and fell well off the pace, which of the other three would you least hate to see win it?

For me it's...

1. Liverpool
2. Arsenal
3. Chelsea

I can't stand Chelsea. Their fans, their manager and their captain all make me feel physically ill. Arsenal fans and Arsene Wenger are pious and have a sense of entitlement, but they're much more palatable than Chavski. Liverpool winning would annoy Stretford and constitute a bit of a change. I know a lot of older fans (my dad's generation) can't stand them but I don't have a particularly strong hatred for them.

This is how I'd like it to end ideally:

1- City
2- Liverpool
3- Chelsea
4- Everton
5- Arsenal (also that they lose FA Cup)
6- Scum (to keep them tied on Thu nights)

But this is how it'll probably finish though:

1- City
2- Chelsea
3- Liverpool
4- Arsenal
5- Everton
6- Spurs

And I don't have your scenario of us falling apart ... if that happens, who the fuck cares what others do or where they finish!

You just scaled new heights of pointlessness. I could've guessed that you want us to win the league. I wasn't even talking about league positions.

If it wasn't Mourinho, I'd say Chelsea, but this season, he's annoying the hell out of me.

Arsenal think they have a right to win stuff for no apparent reason and moan about excessive wages and transfer fees that we spend, handily forgetting £40m on Ozil or the amount they paid Sol Campbell. They also think ever player who leaves them is a mercenary, ignoring the medals they all get after going. I don't even want them to win the FA Cup.

Liverpool - I'd almost prefer the rags to win it. They'd make us all have candle lit vigils for them.

Can I go for Everton? If not, how about WWIII with Russia, causing the league to be abandoned?

Well read again, I just said I don't give a shit who wins or doesn't IF we don't ... so there all your 1, 2, and 3 in my scenario are all 1 ...

Best case - we win it

Worst case - we don't.

If we don't win it, I genuinely care very little for which of either Liverpool or Chelsea winning it as there are equal reasons to both dislike, and take pain from either pipping us.

Its in our own hands, lets keep it that way. Beating the scousers at their own ground virtually eliminates them, winning 8 of our last 9 eliminates Chelsea.

That's it pretty much broken down to it's most simple form.

I don't haven't a real issue with the scousers, my best mate is one, that said he can be a right wind up when it comes to footie. Where i live i am surrounded by plastic rags 90% of whom have never been to the swamp, let alone come from the Manchester area (mainly), loads of Chelski (quite a few season ticket holders or regular game goers) and quiet a few gooners who were really quite intolerable during their successful period.

Most of the Chelski fans are decent people and talk a lot of sense, also get where we have come from in terms of "where were you when we were shit" & investment. One or two bang on about buying it but to be honest they are just the local clowns that people despise regardless of football.

My real gripe with Chelski is that wanker maureen, so if we don't win it (which if i'm honest wouldn't ruin my year) then i would much rather see the Scousers won it solely on the fact that, like us they have played fantastic football that has entertained genuine football fans all over (regardless of allegiance).

Maureen to finish third as the Gooners have no way back IMO and possibly could even struggle to take fourth the way they are going.

If Everton were to finish 4th that would be a further big fuck you RAGS and like many i like Martinez as a man.

As Hazy said the RAGS will fall away deliberately now to avoid Europa and do what the Scouse have done this season concentrate on the Prem.

At the end of the day i would love us to win it, but if we don't then i will remain thankful of the amazing football we played this season.

I don't ever want to expect us to win it, that would be boring as fuck and would also mean the death of "Typical City", i don't have much drama in my life (for which i am thankful for) so this seasons little glitches allow me to continue & still have that sense of being a City fan (a human being) and not some cunt of knob like all those rag wankers.

Chelsea by a mile. Don't give a shit about Mourinho or Terry as I can just turn off the telly if I get sick of em.

Just imagining some of the sanctimonious, entitled, whinging hypocrites in my vicinity blabbing on about youth/history/philosophy/healthy management or any such bs FOR YEARS, makes me want to hang myself.

I can't say I've ever met a Chelsea fan spouting such nonsense as the "ref from Bolton" or "FA HQ in Manchester" bits I've had the pleasure to hear from Arsenal & Liverpool supporters, and that's just the more recent ones off the top of my head.
But then I hardly know any & those I do know are rather sane, so that may taint my view a fair bit.

I heard a scouser saying only 1 englishman in our derby line up was disgusting?
Maybe we should home grow them like they do - all academy products!!!
Sturridge
Sterling
Glen Johnson
Victor Moses
Jordan Henderson

My missus is scouse 1 red and tried to tell me Sterling came through their academy!! Oh my days. She wondered was was wrong as I laughed long and hard.

Which of the other three, well certinaly not Chelski, purely because i detest mourhino and his shit football, horrible arrogant manner and just the way he is generally.
That leaves the other two. If the gun was to my head ide say Liverpool, only because a title win would make them one hit wonders, they would struggle next season. Whereas it would do more for aresnal in the long term.

Since I'm not Manc, I don't have dislike for scousers. I'd have the three in some order as you for the very same reasons.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

You don't have to be a Manc to hate scousers. They are easily hated amongst many groups of people.

Dead boring and predictable, me:

1 A Lancashire team
2 A northern team, from Yorkshire if absolutely necessary
3 Midlands or Welsh team
4 Anyone else outside London.

Apart from the rags. Don't want them anywhere.

And the Baggies. Hope they do well 'cos they're my wife's team.
