Liverpool have been on a quite incredible carnival ride with not one ounce of pressure. Much of that is down to their huge media machine full of ex players etc who have all basically been saying, as one, that Liverpool don't have a chance of winning the league.

Almost every game for them has been like an end of season jolly, where defeat doesn't matter, as they are not actually 'losing' anything, because they never had a chance. But there have been the signs, in games such as Sunderland, where a cruise suddenly becomes a struggle & it suddenly dawns on them that their dreams could disappear with one deflected corner kick.

I'm not sure those nerves will surface v City, as that's a one off 'go for it' match. But it wouldn't surprise me if they suddenly dropped a huge bollock in one of the away games, & that was basically them finished.

Also if I had to bet, I would put my money on Chelsea getting at least a draw there.

A defeat at Anfield won't kill us off imo, for those reasons but anything but a win v City may well kill them off.

I'm actually worried about this game coming v Southampton. They have players who can hurt us. I just hope our strikers perform better than they did at their place.

Even Arsenal didn't manage that in one season, the 14 wins were spread over 2 seasons I think. It's completely unheard of for a team to win all 14 remaining games.

If they do it, I would happily concede we have been done by a better team

I said it Saturday night, we lack the killer DNA, Finish the game in 10 mins at both the swamp and the Arse. If we get openings you have to nail them. Scousers will cause us problems, so chances will have to be taken when they come, On the other hand if they beat us I have them smashing Jose, who could be battered this week by a very good PSG, I suppose Tevez, is a miss now, games like the scousers would be perfect for him. Fearless, hopefull we have moved on and the squad will do it when it matters and boy will it matter.

If last years' rags team had gone one up v Arsenal on Saturday, it would have finished 3 or 4. Sometimes we find a way of drifting out of the game. We did the same at the swamp & let them into the game. That's not happened just this season, it's every season. Sometimes we just don't start games. But we have a level, others can't reach.

Drifting and not getting back to the level during some games happens, I said watching Barca beat Madrid, the Madrid side will still be thinking how did that happen. however with top forwards like Messi you can get done in a flash,We need to be the team that is razor sharp with chances taken, scaring them into changing the game, I agree Saints will be tough, as they are care free with talent and pace.
Counter attack will be my worry with the dippers, switch off and they might cause us nightmares from the loss of the ball we need to be cute and savvy all the game.

I would tell someone like Aguero to follow Gerrard around when we lose the ball. Stop him playing & mug him for the ball when they are all forward out of position.

Originally the Count swore blind that we didn't 'do' tactics as such, just our own thing. But then blew that wide open v Barca. Well imo, if he gets his tactics right at Anfield, our biggest danger is purely the ref, because we can both stop them scoring & hit them for shedloads at the other end. But it wouldn't surprise me if he just goes cavallier again.

yeah me too, they are set up as a counter attacking team if we go gung ho at them it will leave us wide open and play into their hands. 4-5-1 make it hard and then pick them off, similar to what chelsea did to us. A draw is a great result assuming we dont slip up elsewhere.

Something many on here have yet to experience by the sound of it.

Just looking at the fixtures, we play Palace on April 27, same day Liverpool play Chelsea.

That would be a good day to produce a title winning performance. Come out of that on top, & we have 3 games left whilst they have two.

Same may happen to them at West Ham if they're not careful.

On paper it's any easy win, with increased goal difference, but there is Andy Carrol v his old club & a team which specialises in corners v a team who struggles to defend them.

I agree - and Allardyce is the type of manager you would want to be setting a team up to make it difficult for them.

I just think that we should be focussing on the old fashioned thing of 1 game at a time. FFS we have to go to Palace and Everton which I think will also be very tough games - full attention needed.

If we can win all the other games a draw will do at the redscouse - if we drop points at the weekend we might need to win.
