Trunky & Specky have their say

Trunky & Specky have their say

Plenty of oppinions being offered at present, by people who need to keep their own house in order.

"Manchester City had lost less games in the Premier League than anyone else," said O'Neill.

"This idea that you step in and be given some money to spend and you turn things round immediately, just wouldn't happen in any other business."

I could have sworn Redknapp came in when Spurs were in serious shit, given loads of cash and are in a better position now than we have been in over the last year. Is that a fair comment, despite the inherrant hatred of Mr Redknapp by many on this board?

"It seems now that when there is a big job coming up they [British Managers] are overlooked."

You wouldn't have heard that a year ago would ya?

The thing I hate about these self righteous pompus bastards (and not necessarily Trunky & Specky) in general, is the fact that they whinge and moan about British Managers not getting a Chance, but are the first to look abroad because their apparently isn't enough quality British players participating in the lower leagues!

By My calculations, there are 7 foreign managers in the Prem which is around 35-40 %...and I reckon the amount of foreign players is similar if not a higher percentage

Ahhhh ! the ENGLISH Premier league.

Remind me, are those two guys English ? We're in Europe these days it doesn't matter one iota.

The main reason why English or British managers can't cut it abroad is because they are too thick. Which Italian team would
take on Hughes/Bruce /O'Neill ? The only reason McClaren had a chance is because of his brilliant fluency in Dutch He's twice as good as the other English coaches. Sorry should that be double dutch ?

Btw I like O'Neill, i just think he's wrong here. Bruce ... couldn't give a toss.

The only fella that has excelled is Roy Hodgson because he learned the languages and put great effort into that too.
Moyes could probably hack it abroad. Oh wait, he is already.

It's been said before, but, should Ancellotti, Wenger, Fergie and Rafa go who will get their jobs. Could you see any of these get their chance:-

O;Neil - good shout,
McLeish - has he enough mates
Moyes - might strike lucky,
Rednapp - don't think so,
Hodgeson - decent manager would a top 4 club take him?
MH - despite the hullaboo probably not
Big Sam ???
Owen Coyle???

Have I missed anyone

It's funny to hear Bruce banging on about being loyal when he's been at 7 clubs in 9 years.

Ian Holloway...you may laugh but at a guess going on league positions he's probably the 5 or 6 best ENGLISH manager at present on league position, but again would anyone give him a job at a bigger club higher than Blackpool? Probably not...Holloway is madder than a box of frogs!!

fuck all this media propaganda shite...

i for one am behind the owners 100%... they have not let us down with anything they have transformed the club in every aspect they could do... without them wed be fighting relegation with players like marlon king and would prob be in the championship right now...

they made a decision which they feel was right and i for one will back that because up to now they have been a godsend to city and we owe them a hell of a lot.

the club always comes first.

Exactly what I was coming in here to post.

Shouldn't he be worrying about the fact his team are on the slide at the minute despite spending a fair amount of money? Oh wait, its easier to deflect attention away from that by lambasting the team that are 'ruining football'.

It's the type of managers such as Bruce and O'Neill that would kill to be given the opportunity that Mancini has. They're no better managers than Hughes IMO.

O'Neill is a better manager than Hughes was but he also a lot more experienced.. with time Hughes at a smaller club Hughes could go onto being a very successful manager.. but I don't understand why every person has to have an opinion about our club when really they have no idea what goes on here and really it shouldn't bother them what happens at city either.. they should be worrying about their own team
