I think it reflects badly on Yaya as a Muslim that he got so wasted on his birthday he couldn't even remember what happened.

just read something about yaya wanting to leave because the club didn't wish him happy birthday. I doubt the most self-centred footballer would leave because of that. All bollocks. Typical agent trying to get more money.
Still here.

MEN has a good article about Yaya's agents history of mouthing off in this way and Yaya's own frequent contradictions of his agent. Also includes some idiocies from Rodney Marsh. Tosser.

BBC Sport as usual showing their anti City bias by featuring this nonsense as their main story.

There is no smoke without fire. ¨

Toure was our best player this season, he was one of the best three in the league if not the best.

He is 31 and is unlikely to get another club who can pay him this amount of wages so his agent is just trying to get him a bigger deal.

We would be severely hurt by his departure as there is simply no other player out there that can do the job he does. Any sort of replacement would cost 40-50 million we cannot spend. It is cheaper to give him a pay rise.

If he wanted to leave (and take a pay cut) every club in Europe would take him.

When he joined us, shortly after he mentioned he wanted to return to Barca one day. He topped a poll in Barca paper of the player the fans most wanted to sign. They had a bad season and will need to sign players to appease the fans. An ex team mate is now the manager there.

You can bang on about media bias all you want but all of the above shows that Toure is in a position to hold us to ransom and if his agent was not doing that for him then he should be sacked.

But Roberto Carlos got a Bugatti from Anzhi for his birthday!

[urlnp=http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2633858/Yaya-Toures-agent-claims-Roberto-Carlos-given-Bugatti-birthday-Man-City-star-did-not-handshake.html]LINKY[/urlnp]

Yaya Toure's agent Dimitri Seluk has stepped up his attack on Manchester City by revealing Brazil legend Roberto Carlos was given a super car by Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala to mark his birthday.

Seluk cast doubt on Toure's future at Manchester City by saying the influential midfielder was unhappy with the club after he says they forgot his birthday.

And now he says that mega-rich Russian club Anzhi gave Carlos a Bugatti for his birthday while he claims no one at City remembered to wish Toure Happy Birthday when he turned 31 last week.

Seluk told the BBC: 'None of them shook his hand on his birthday. It's really sick you know. 'He got a cake but when it was Roberto Carlos's birthday, the president of Anzhi gave him a Bugatti.

'I don't expect City to present Yaya with a Bugatti, we only asked that they shook his hand and said 'we congratulate you'. It is the minimum they must do when it is his birthday and the squad is all together.

'It is an important human relationship to shake hands and say 'happy birthday' but nobody did it to Yaya. It shows they don't care about him.

'I hear one newspaper has written that City congratulated him from Twitter but this is a joke. It is better they don't put anything on Twitter if they are not saying anything to him.

'The club's owners ate a 100kg cake after winning the Premier League this season but when they and the players were all together, none of them shook his hand on his birthday.

'If they don't respect him, then easy - Yaya will leave. No problem.'

Speaking in The Sun, Seluk said: 'There is a big possibility Yaya will leave this summer. He is very upset. What happened at his birthday means the club don't care about him. It was proof.

'They can say whatever they want, "Oh we like him but we forgot". Forgot? About Yaya? The player who helped you to be two-time Premier League champions? The guy who helped you win the FA Cup and League Cup?

'In a normal team, his team-mates and club would at least give him good wishes. But when you win the title and two days later you have a big party to celebrate the title and nobody comes to Yaya to say happy birthday, what more do you want?

'If a player like Yaya went to Liverpool and they won the league for the first time in 24 years, Yaya would be a god in Liverpool,' Seluk told The Sun.

'But at City, Yaya is no hero. He's nobody. That's how the club make him feel. He's very upset and he started thinking about leaving the club. And he will leave if things carry on like this.

'We're not doing this for more money. We probably can go for less money to another club. If they think they can buy everything, they are wrong. I think these people don't care. Only stupid people would want Yaya to leave.'

Meanwhile, City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak has shrugged off the limitations of a £49million transfer cap by revealing that the club are well on the way to landing their summer targets.

Manuel Pellegrini's side want defender Bacary Sagna on a free transfer from Arsenal and retain a strong interest in £35m-rated Porto defender Eliaquim Mangala and team-mate Fernando, despite UEFA's punishment for breaching Financial Fair Play rules.
As well as having their net spending capped, City's wage bill has been frozen, though £200,000-a-week will be freed up after Khaldoon confirmed that the club will not retain Gareth Barry and Joleon Lescott.

City spent nearly £100m on Fernandinho, Jesus Navas, Alvaro Negredo and Stevan Jovetic last summer and Khaldoon said: 'Expect the same - but even earlier. We know exactly what needs to be done.'

The BBC for all its faults is not a tabloid and never publishes a story on its main page without having a confirmed source.

It didn't have to dignify this ridiculous story as it's main one especially given the history of this ridiculous agent's mouthing off. If the BBC doesn't want to sink to the level of a tabloid it shouldn't behave like one. Read the MEN story and see just what form this agent has.

Everyone accepts this agent is mouthing off so the source point is irrelevant. The question is whether to take seriously this nutter when he has mouthed off repeatedly in the past and then been contradicted by the actions and words of Toure most recently in signing a new long term contract. The nub of the 'story' is that there is a serious risk of Yaya asking for a transfer because his birthday wasn't celebrated adequately. Do you honestly believe that? Does anyone? It makes Yaya look like a complete idiot and until and unless the BBC have spoken direct to Yaya it is ridiculous to give so much coverage to it. Shame on you BBC.

first one reads like sarcasm, which i think was intended given the "jokes aside". the second one is more serious.
if his agent is spouting out this bullshit why doesn't he fire him?

either way, he's under contract so he cant leave even if he wants to. too bad.

He's definitely not his 'agent' as he's not FIFA accredited. But if he's paying this clown, he should probably spend him money more wisely

Every top player is under contract.

The fact that he said "please don't take words that do not come out of MY mouth seriously...."

How about you fire this fuckhole who keeps mouthing off in YOUR name? Then we won't need to judge at all.
