Didn't hear Seluk's rantings on Sky but it seems he's furious Yaya contradicted him and is now claiming some of the tweets didn't come from Yaya to justify himself. References to a lack of flowers to his family. Good grief. The two of them are making laughing stocks of themselves. Important the club keeps its dignity in this situation. Toure really should make a proper statement not after the World Cup but now.

It's perfectly possible none of the tweets came from Yaya. The first two could have come from a pr guy to calm things down and then Seluk exploded and tweeted the next two himself. We just don't know who has access to his twitter account. What he does have is a complete nutter who at least claims to be his agent. Yaya really should make things plain in a proper public way. He complained about a lack of respect for African players but complaining about birthdays and flowers takes things to a different level. If the agent thinks anyone's going to pay Toure Messi level wages he's kidding himself. He gets what 220,000 a week. Enough to make you crash your car or at least tweet in fury.

if it is the slightest bit true, yaya can fuck off. we can cash in now and get a real defensive midfielder.

Their confirmed source was his agent speaking to The Sun. It was bollox that they'd investigate first. The days of decent journalism are gone - you either report rumour now or come out with a confirmed story once everyone has lost interest

That's not true regarding the BBC's source. When they first published the article about Yaya, they quoted the agent and stated they'd spoken to him.

As Ross said, compared to other websites, the BBC generally only reports a story if they have source and they consign the rumours into their gossip section.

Put in a transfer request, find someone willing to pay £40m (£60m if an English club) and go to someone who'll brown nose you.

My favourite player since Colin Bell. But if true, cheerio.

If Toure fucked off it wouldn't benefit anyone but his agent.

I can't see another club paying the same or more money than we do on top of a transfer fee for a 31 year old.

He has just won 2 trophies and had his best season ever under Pellegrini. I can't see him playing better football personally for anyone else. I can't see him scoring 20 goals again at Barcelona.

But Toure has now said that his agent or whoever he is, speaks the truth. I have a feeling Toure may be thick and is simply being poisoned in his ear.

So we get rid of one our main attacking threats and replace him with a defensive midfielder???

Great logic!

I hope Yaya's statement after the world cup is "I binned that mouthy tosser sorry for all the fuss."
VIVA EL CITIES

Blatter ... for eight years and Mr Michel Platini ... for eight years from all football-related activities (administrative, sports or any other) on a national and international level. The bans come into force immediately." - 21/12/2015

The trouble is this source is a nutter with form as long as your arm. Yaya has repeatedly made statements and taken actions contradicting him. I don't think a story based on Seluk's rantings justified the prominence of the coverage. We still have no idea of Yaya's views because we don't know who tweeted what tweet. Yaya really should make himself clear straightaway. I imagine the club are urging him to do so as we speak.

well a real defensive midfielder is somewhere we are lacking tbh. yaya gets told to sit deep sometimes and do a 'job', especially last season. so you're saying we couldn't get another attacking mid or even push ferd up abit?

yaya is yaya, probably irreplaceable, but when he is doing a defensive job, he is shite.

think before you speak.

Where did I say we couldn't get another attacking midfielder??? YOU said we can cash in on Yaya and get a real defensive midfielder. Yet Yaya has NEVER been a defensive midfielder for us! He scored 20+ goals last season.

And you told me to 'think before I speak'.

You're really settling in well as the new paulmclaren on this board. Keep up the good work!

I'm as unconvinced and unconcerned by this story as I was by the Milner one yesterday. Shall we have a sweepstake about who it will be tomorrow? Vinnie maybe?
