This all seems very very strange Almost like an April fools joke the club tends to do every year!

Did sound like that. It sounded bizarre, Spinal Tap style.

Regardless of who really said what, the only outcome from this must be that his club will have no dealings with the agent. Whether Yaya goes with him remains to be seen, but I suspect the club learned a lot by the way Tevez acted and won't be allowed to look foolish

Regardless of whether Yaya said anything or wants to leave, the agent implied he could just move Yaya to a new club. Is he forgetting that he's under contract?

Oy vey!!! What a ridiculous story. The modern football superstar and his agent hey?! What a stroppy diva. I personally think he was a bit pissed off and hurt by no one wishing him happy birthday but that it's his agent who has seized on it and blown it up in order to get a contract improvement. Funny how this shit always crops up in the close season with Yaya and every year he seems to end up getting more cash. Well I guess that's what he pays his agent his commission for.

Maybe he want to go back to Barca or to the Scouse to be with Kolo. Maybe it's all the agent's doing. Whatever it is, two things are for sure: one is that the owners aren't going to let people embarrass them and the club, as they showed by getting rid of Tevez and Mario; the other is that wherever YaYa plays next season there'll be cakes cascading onto the pitch all around him - chocolate eclairs, jam rolls, shortbreads, the lot.

People harp on about how no player is bigger than the club etc, it's getting to that stage now though isn't it?! it's horrible that its got to this.
: How many organisation's, business's, workplace's etc do you know that a worker/member of staff is on more money than the boss? I mean really think about that! a lot of our players and a lot of other players from other teams will be on a lot more money than the manager! It's crazy! Its like a Tesco's checkout worker being on more a year than the store manager. makes no sense.
: Modern players know they can act like this to get more money/move to another club. It comes with how football is in the modern day!
: We all adore Yaya but do you think he loves us back?! how many footballers do you think can honestly say hand on heart that they love the fans. I've stood where the players drive out a few times, none of them stop unless a kid physically gets in the way of the car and even then they do their best to drive away.
:Football has adapted so much in a commercial sense that players do have so much power over the club especially the 'key' players!

So is there such a thing as 'no player is bigger than the club'? us as fans would like to think so, but inside the club and other clubs, I bet that's not the case!

Stories we won't see tomorrow:

Zabba upset because no one kissed his knee better. Agent says: 'At Liverpool, 140,000 Koppites would have crawled on their knees to lick the blood off'. Zabba tweets: 'it's really sore'.

Such a strange way this story has come about today and Yaya will be under pressure to clarify.

For us though, maybe not as bad as it seems. Dont get me wrong, I think Yaya is world class but you have to build your team around him. Last season everything went through him and he needed to be on top of his game in order for the team to play well and when he played in a midfield 2 we got caught out defensively. Maybe Pellegrini has different plans on how we should play.

I have been trying to work out for a while what way we are going to play next year and always felt Yaya was going to be moved around. Going for Fernando was going to make no sense unless we were going to a 3 in midfield with Yaya pushing forward (which means dropping an attacking player) but assuming we stay with 2 up top and 2 attacking mids then we need a more defensive minded all round midfielder like Fernandinho to play alongside him (Fernandinho).

I dont think Pellegrini would want to get rid of Yaya but I could see him being moved back into defence or sweeper role. As teams usually only play 1 up top againist us he wouldnt have much marking duties and been out of the midfield 2 he would be free of having to follow midfield runners and he would still be available to make 1 or 2 full length runs now and then.

Anyway, I doubt anyone is going to pay over £30mill for him and he is not a huge cost on our accounts so we are better keeping him, not expect him to be the power house he was last season but still a very effective footballer to use within our squad.

P.S. Does anyone know did Yaya always start when we played one up top, I've looked back over a few and I think he did and maybe its because of the space Yaya leaves in behind meant Pellegrini went thinkering with his preferred set up

One of the most bizarre stories in a while.

Also, IF there's any truth in it this again shows one thing which imo is a problem in modern football, Player power and general lack of respect towards contracts.
Anyway, I'm just going to wait until there's some facts on the table and let's then see where we stand

Looks like an update of sorts. Isn't BeIn Sports owned by Al Jazeera or something now? It mentions an interview with him there:

Will he ever have a season like that again?

I don't think so. His agent and himself obviously don't think so either. What is his market value right now.

That's what all three parties are trying to find out. Let's find out.

My initial reaction to the story was that Yaya is a child who has got his life hugely out of perspective. Now I'm inclined to believe, from his changing tone of jocular to miffed as the Tweets progressed, that he was actually knocking back a post season drink or ten - possibly Premier League Champions' champagne.

We've all been there: starting the day on holiday with a few jolly drinks, winking at the world and living the good life. Then the more drunk we get the darker it all becomes.

Hangover for Yaya this morning.

Very strange story. Nobody knows who's said what and on who's behalf. I watched the chairmans interview last night and coming through loud and clear was the image of the club. Players have to be good people as well as good footballers, this is why players like Tevez and Mario were moved on and we haven't and won't be signing any lose cannons or massive personalities. Fernandinho seems to be one of the most genuine people out there, works hard on and off the field, great family man, never outspoken. This is what the club is looking for in players now too. If all of this is true about Yaya then I think he will be moved on. Image is everything with this club now and I think it's something we can all be proud of.

Many have said it already..... Toure is now 31 (happy birthday) and his best days are now behind him (and what a behind!).. If he can find a club who will pay top dollar for him then he should go. My only stipulation if I was manager/ owner at City would be he needs to do it quickly so that we can reinvest the funds in a younger model.

Wouldn't worry me if he left, we will replace him. This club is on the up and up big time!
