What I found interesting but not talked about much by the media, or on here, was the reaction to when he scored in the friendly against Ecuador. Even though he fluffed it a bit it was Ricky Lambert who set that goal up and should've scored it. Both players went for it a yard out but Rooney's foot got there a milli-second before Lambert's did, flicking it into the goal.

The reaction that followed was quite wierd in that he punched the air in delight but didn't even acknowledge Lambert's part in the goal and it was Lambert who actually went to Rooney. It may not sound much but it said an awful lot to me to where Rooney's mentality is at.

And that goal was supposed to be the ending of the drought, moving him forward for the big games. Instead, it just seemed to make his head bigger and reinforced my thoughts that he is interested in nothing more than himself. Not England, not the Rags, not his team mates, just himself.
