Beefymcfc wrote:What I found interesting but not talked about much by the media, or on here, was the reaction to when he scored in the friendly against Ecuador. Even though he fluffed it a bit it was Ricky Lambert who set that goal up and should've scored it. Both players went for it a yard out but Rooney's foot got there a milli-second before Lambert's did, flicking it into the goal.

The reaction that followed was quite wierd in that he punched the air in delight but didn't even acknowledge Lambert's part in the goal and it was Lambert who actually went to Rooney. It may not sound much but it said an awful lot to me to where Rooney's mentality is at.

And that goal was supposed to be the ending of the drought, moving him forward for the big games. Instead, it just seemed to make his head bigger and reinforced my thoughts that he is interested in nothing more than himself. Not England, not the Rags, not his team mates, just himself.

His attitude and antics, captured by the camera as he was leaving the pitch in the 2010 World Cup, also spring to mind.

Bottom line is he hasn't improved since he was 16. Should have been fucked off years ago.

Wasn't there a recent Internet poll of some sorts, urging 'Woy' to give Cleverley a wide berth when it came to deciding on the England squad for Brazil ??

Given Shrek's fading 'popularity', I wonder if there will be a similar poll organised to try and get him evicted from the team from now on, in spite of the vested interests within the FA which would want to retain him ??

2 games to save his England career. If he plays like we know he is capable of then he'll be largely forgiven, if not he can fuck off. I can't remember the last tie he grabbed a game by the scruff of the neck for England, excuse the cliche, yet he so often does/did for the Rags. Possibly Euro 2004.

Time to show something.

If Rooney has a shit tournament & England are true to form, they will just fire the manager & the next one will immediately pick Rooney as they have done with Gerrard, Spiceboy, & every big name player going all the way back to Bobby Charlton.

I'm not sure that anybody actually gives a fuck about them now, apart from the Rag sychophants who will always find the best in what the likes of Wiggy brings. Speaking to quite a few over here, they aren't so blind as many and even the Rags I've spoken to can't see what Rooney brings to the England team apart from the coffers from the sponsors.

Nobody gave a fuck about John Barnes but they still picked him, even though everyone in the country knew he would be shite.

you must be joking right? he has had 10 years to show what he is capable of.

if he is world class or even top class, he would do more than average 13 premier league goals a season.

how on earth could two good games change peoples opinion of him?

I bet Tevez's average was something similar and he's one of the best players I've ever seen in the PL.
I'm not having this argument again mate. You think he's shit. I think he's one of the best players to have played against us. Call him a cunt, a granny shagger a whatever but fucking terrific footballer but unfortunately not for England, which makes it all the more frustrating.

He hasn't performed for England since Euro 2004 where he was magnificent. He's not even come close to that. I too think he should be dropped.
But he won't be dropped and these last two games really should be his last chance for England. If he lets us down again then fuck him off and replace him.
But you give 'zero shits' about England apparently so I'm not sure why you're participating in a debate about an England player. Strange.

Hopefully Costa will remain Corradi MKII, Suarez will become Public Enemy No1 & Hazard will end the tournament a broken man.

And Gerrard will suffer a crisis of confidence but decide he has to fight through it by hitting no less than 19 long balls per game for Liverpool when he gets home.

That made me look up a quip I saw on another site that I found funny............

Its a Rooney thread who is also a rag player. Who the fuck are you to tell me who I can and cannot discuss. I give a reasonable post and you are still being a cunt. We all know you shag Rooney and are a closet rag so give it a rest.

We are not talking about tevez so why bring him up. The media doesn't hype tevez as one of the best modern players of the game nor do people wank over him. So compare all you like, for one of the apparent best pl strikers he averages 13 goals season and tbh that is distintively average. Unfortunately you can't rap your rag brain round that. Shrek should have been fucked off 4 years ago. Sing his praises all you like, even scoring against us, he doesnt perform when it matters and is overrated.

It's a thread about whether Rooney should start for ENGLAND. A team you supposedly give 'zero shits' about. If you don't give a shit about England why do you care who starts? Strange.
I know we're not talking about Tevez, I was using an example to show that average goals per season is not a fool proof measure. It doesn't for example take into account numerous outside factors.

You're nearly on RagHater's level mate. You're genuinely incapable of participating in any sort of debate without throwing the 'rag' label out or insulting someone or just generally being abusive towards other posters. Just try it once. Go on.
I do rate Rooney as a PLAYER as do several others on here and I offer no apologies for it, call me a rag all you want. I however have also gone on to said I think he's been shite for England for some time and should be dropped.
You're response was more reasonable than your normal tripe though, i'll give you that.

It will be interesting to see how Rooney goes from here, not just for England but for the rags too.

I think he has been one of the best players in the Prem, but he wasn't last season, & he's had some right shitty spells in recent seasons, particularly since Ferguson ran him into the dirt a few years back & played him injured every week.

Scholes saying Rooney could be 'worn out' & past his peak could just be a trick to get him playing, but it seemed like a genuine question from someone who sees him close up.

Of course it will be hilarious if true, as they have just signed him for 5 years on fucking fortunes.

You're a bellend its obvious. You're the one regurgitating your drama from another thread, you don't need to be and england fan to comment on an england player, likewise I don't need to be a Chelsea can to see how shit Torres is. Pull that stick out of your arse and think before you speak instead of playing the thick cunt. Hold on to zero shits as long as you can, it is fairly obvious you have nothing else to say.

Rag hater? Again you're the one going on with your Drama. If you're going to bark, don't cry if you get bitten. I will spell it out for you, you're the one starting with the insults not me.
