I think he has been one of the best players in the Prem, but he wasn't last season, & he's had some right shitty spells in recent seasons, particularly since Ferguson ran him into the dirt a few years back & played him injured every week.
Scholes saying Rooney could be 'worn out' & past his peak could just be a trick to get him playing, but it seemed like a genuine question from someone who sees him close up.
Of course it will be hilarious if true, as they have just signed him for 5 years on fucking fortunes.
I don't think it was a 'trick' tbh. Either Scholes or Rooney, can't remember which recently gave an interview where they said they weren't particularly close and didn't have each other's number. Don't think Scholes is like that, seems a fairly honest guy tbh.
Also quite liked how he tore into Jack Wilshire the other week calling him a complete waste of talent.
Anyway I repeat, Rooney has two games to save his England career. If he performs like he can and pulls England through (unlikely I know) then keep him around, if not it really will be time for him to go.
