Gerrard.

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Gerrard.

Not one for scapegoating normally but what a fucking bottler he is.
Slips in the title race and then tonight when we had ALL the momentum and we're looking like scoring he fucks up and hands them the game.
That was after his non-performance in the Italy game aswell.

World class about 3-5 years ago. Mediocre now.

Don't you know he's the second best player in the premier league according to journalists in the UK, or was it by pfa?

Complete fucking waste of time. Offers nothing going forward and can't defend well enough to justify that.

Throw him in the skip.

He's not even the second best player for Liverpool.
Bottler.
Even fucking Rooney- the second biggest bottler produced something tonight.
What a farce.

Agree and then we had the likes of Wellbeck and Glenn Johnson starting simply because they play for Scum and Scousers ... they are at best Sunderland players and had they be at a club like that, then show me one person in the whole of England asking the manager to select them (press first) ...

Welbeck is a decent option for closing out games as he's quick and works hard but just lacks the quality.
Johnson is fucking tripe.
Baines isn't much better. Still think Ashley Cole should have gone.

But all of that was manageable on the night. What you can't account for is your 'captain' gift wrapping the opposition the game when we looked like winning it.

Someone has to fuck up when playing for England. It might as well be the Captain.

It reminded me of City of old.
Doing all the hard work, getting back into the game, threaten to win it and then shooting yourself in the foot.
Everyone makes mistakes, but he fucked up after contributing roughly nothing for the rest of the game. Milner would be 10 times better.

If that was the main reason for putting him in the side, then Milner would be a far better option, being a better tackler and with far more skill.

Welbeck is just a mediocre plodder.

If he was any kind of international captain, he would have been organisi g the team to form up & defend the kick out, rather than running backwards blindly, thus deterring Cahill from coming out & winning the ball

How can he be captain when he's got the charisma of a weaver fish.
Roy had him in for his experience ....... Yes, experience of failure at every world cup he's played in !!
I'm so angry he's even in the squad.

I wanted to point out that as well. There's hundreds of guys who are quick and would be willing to run for the cause. FFS Wellbeck is SHIT, Plain and simple & the only reason he is in that squad is that he plays for the rags. When he leaves rags his career will go down the drain

I haven't heard one person on the tv, on either channel, even mention Gerrard.

If Milner had turned in identical performances in the last two games, Rooney wouldn't even have got a fucking mention; there would be nothing but Milner, Milner more Milner & what a twat Roy was for picking him.

All these cunts know Gerrard personally, & almost feel guilty mentioning the fact that HE IS FUCKING PAST IT AND HAS BEEN FOR YEARS.

It's like if Frank Sinatra had gone tone deaf; nobody wants to say it.

I've never understood all the fuss about him.
How Milner gets overlooked for a side that includes Henderson, Welbeck and Gerrard God alone knows

Hes crap and annoying but ultimately "Woy" was to blame for us going out last night- if he'd of had the bottle to take gerard off and put lampard on we'd be through, we had loads of long range scoring oppurtunities

I think a lot had to do with the media clamour for 'new blood'. Maybe it will serve England well in the future but his determination to play Sterling, Henderson, Lallana, Barkley has cost us.
We have poor players in defence, and a lack of world class performers. The basic problem is having such a limited pool of players to choose from.

This morning Radio 5 Lies said Suarez scored his second from a nod-on but failed to mention the 'nodder'. Excruciating.
