Kompany's groin injury isn't keeping him out of the starting 11 today. I hope he doesn't make it worse

Belgium would be a much better team if they actually tried playing like one and not a bunch of individuals. It's a testament to the players' quality that they've come so far
being this disorganized.

"In my career so far it's the most important goal. You score the goal in the last minute to win the title. You're not sure if that's ever going to happen in your career again. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

That turned into one of the games of the tournament. Cracking effort in extra time from both teams.

At last a City hero, not Komps, step forward de Marcus Beasley, never put a foot wrong all game. Well done the yanks, but why klinsman left that clown Germain Jones stay on the pitch...totally clueless. And who was the laziest arsehole? Fellaini or Dempsey... a tough call.Great entertainment. And Lukaku loves his mother which might explain a few things, lol

I agree jermaine was not up to it today but he had been out player of the tournamrnt so far and we couldn't afforded to take off another defensive midfielder. Everyone we had was on the pitch.

just for clarification...if you've just called me "doodles" then we might have some issues.

Otherwise, i agree with what you just said. We had our chances and didn't take them.

That spirit within the England team and you'd have given Columbia the fucking game of the tourney so far. It's an actual shame that you accept Roy and his bollox-y bollox as acceptable. It's part of what i'd call this reverential cultural attachment to faux regal bullshit that underlies the only stuff i dislike about British culture. There is this superficial element to certain things, and the national team being a great example, yet at the most cynical level you cunts are the most insightful and "real" group of people i've ever met -- never one to mince words and a laser-like ability from even the most working class folks to break shit down "like it is" and speak their mind. But why you stand for the bullshit of pomp and circumstance over actual quality content is beyond me. It's almost like you enjoy the misery and bullshit of it to have "something" to call your own.

And yes i'm talking shit, but am i making any sense to anyone? If not, just tell me to fuck off and i'll do my best.

cheers

The basic problem seems to be (to me) that 99.9% of Americans are incredibly proud to be American, even the minorities. Nationalist pride has been hammered out of my generation due to the connotations of racism, and thus we have a football team that, as an extremely high profile export of Britain, are going through the motions on the pitch so as simply not to upset anyone, to keep the sponsors happy and to say and do the 'right' things in a corporate world.

And like you say, Woy is at the head of that - as much as redknapp is a cunt, you suspect he would have at least had the players playing with the right attitude at a tournament perhaps for the first time since Venables

Looks tasty. Rumour has it, or at least the commentators last night would have you believe, the dippers are after him. Looks to me to be a similar type to Sterling, only more direct. Must be better for him ( and Lopez ) if he was to stay at Lille for another year or two
