Truly terrible ball from Luiz. Stand by for more waterworks after the match.

Surely a penalty not a yellow card for diving.

Bet the ref feels a bit stupid now that Blind went out injured. Can't really claim that there wasn't any contact ...

Fred and Julio Cesar have retired from intentional football

All they need now is for Luiz,Maicon,Jo,Hulk and Dante to do the same and most importantly pack Scolaris bags for him..As for that lot I would love to know how Maxwell and Henrique even featured in the squad.

Fred and Jo up front for Brazil was comedy gold.Scolari has a lot to answers for, especially playing David Luiz in defence that's just a recipe for disaster. No idea what the situation is with Alexander Pato but he must have been injured to not feature ahead of Jo and Fred.Looking at the other options you would have to feel Lucas,Filipe Luis and Miranda should also have featured in the squad.Other than than that the only one who springs to mind is Coutinho who had a solid season with Liverpool.

HOW THE HELL DID THAT SIDE GET OUT OF THEIR GROUP?

Let alone into the semi-final, they were god awful.

Maybe if they play well somewhere down the track they can try out "It's just like watching Man City".

From looking at their 1st game I'd say that they had a helping hand.

They were carried by Neymar, pure and simple. A shining star in an absolute shower of mediocrity.

Even that wasn't enough in the 1st game.

Someone made a good point about Brazil though, cant remember who, but people still get giddy about their "style" of football, although if we isolate each world cup side since the terrific 1970 side, I can only think of one other version that had you on the edge of your seat...the 1982 side...other than that theyve been just as up and down and overly reliant on workhorses as most other national sides....and spent an awful long time seemingly trying to "europeanise" their game, which I recall meant them being especially poor in 74 and 90 and too reliant on one or two flair players at other times.

its comical that Coutinho, Luis, Miranda, and Lucas Moura didn't get in the squad. Scolari has his favorites and that did them in.

Rio Ferdinand: "My Mate, Michael Carrick, who I promised to give a namecheck to, would have done so much better in that situation. Yes, the same Michael Carrick who wanders around the pitch like he has a poker up his arse and is about as mobile as a sloth with that poker I mentioned before stuck right up its arse."

"You mean that shitty player, Michael Carrick, who is shit and has made every England team even shitter by his presence?"

"Yeah."

New depths for this World Cup's very bad punditry.
