Keen?

Personally I'd cream my pants if we did sign him at last.

I think he would be as good as Silva. I think he'd take us to another level.

i really like this guy but we'd have to sell at least 2 foreign players and whoever else to make enough money to buy him and comply with FFP. don't see it happening.
I'm not really a City fan. I'm just here for attention.

Bit harsh imo beefy. Can't really blame a young Spanish player from choosing real Madrid over us.

Would love him at our place. So he turned us down last year? But to be honest most Spanish youngsters would want to go to Real, so don't blame him especially when Zidane's telling him he's gonna be the next big thing.
If (and I still think it's a big 'if') he will come on our terms and not giving the Big I am, like 12 months ago.
He's just missed out on a world cup and Spain will be looking to re-build with their kids.
What better challenge can a young player have? Come to City prove to everyone just how good you are and get in the Spanish squad for the Euro's.
Think he might be hungry to show Madrid they made a big mistake.

I'm with Beefy on this one and I don't think he's being harsh at all.

Isco missed the boat with this one when he preferred the Spanish Scum over us, so he's blown his chance and he'll just have to live to eternally regret it.

"Sloppy seconds" indeed, which is a nice way of phrasing it.

I'd have him....sloppy seconds or not. Just like I'd welcome Amber Heard post her dalliance with Johnny Depp.

He didn't ever say anything derogatory about City, he did not renege on a deal....he's welcome at the Etihad IMO

Like it or not Real Madrid still have a far bigger natural pull than us and it will take years to equal that. They're arguably the biggest and most historically famous club in the world. Young players, especially Spanish players, grow up dreaming of playing for them, they don't grow up (at least not yet) thinking 'one day I'd love to play for Manchester City'. Maybe one day they will but you can't hold it against a player that they chose them over us.

I've not actually seen enough of him to form a solid judgement but if he would improve us then why not? Seems a bit petty. As Ant said, he didn't say anything derogatory or mean about us.

My question would be whether he's good enough.

Jovetic is a much better player imo. Perhaps Isco will be much better with regular games but if he had been good enough, Real would have played him.

He started 35 games for Real in all comps last season, including 23 league starts.

If we want to bring him in we have to replace a foreign trained player, who?

There are two different points of view here but, at the end of the day, it'll be interesting to see if Pellegrini would try again for him, if he became available to us.

Worth noting that Jovetic has shown absolutely nowt yet. I know there have been injury problems but even in the games he's played he's not looked anything more than pretty decent yet. So he's no more of a cert than Isco in my eyes. He could come good though admittedly.

I'm not going off watching him at City, where he is yet to begin, I'm going off watching his previous career, where imo he has been a much better player than Isco & indeed also imo, one one of the biggest talents in Europe in that position. He was also better than Isco at the same age for me, by a distance. Injuries are all that have held him back.

Oh I know. Just saying he's still got it all to prove for City as it currently stands. He might struggle over here.

On the contrary, I think he has shown enough to suggest we have a real star on our hands. And if Sergio keeps falling to bits then he may well be needed to shine this season.

Jovetic has started preseason well - the only thing missing against Kansas was a goal. He was one of the best players on the pitch.

He is a brilliant player. Only thing that can hold him back is injury.

I get the impression he means business and sees the world cup (and a number of our players having a delayed preseason due to it) as an opportunity to get an early start.

I'd take Isco no problem. I'd try to do it on a one year loan though with a fixed price transfer if we want to complete the deal. Makes it risk free for us and gets round the FFP problems.
