Dippers at Yankee Stadium

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Dippers at Yankee Stadium

Postby Dwaring » Sat Jul 26, 2014 2:49 pm

Very excited to see city play in the flesh for the first time in 4 years. How much has changed! We were a scrappy contender back then, now 4 trophies later every team in the world would rather not see us on their fixture list. I know it's only preseason friendly but it's what most of us Yanks have to settle for. Pretty cool venue for a footy match and ends up being the top 2 last year. Anyone else going?

I've been receiving emails all week about the trip from the Mad Hatters to the game.Seems like they will get a good old reception. Apparently the Trophies from last season will also be on display on Tuesday in Modells Sport shop in Manhattan. 6.30 pm four players will be signing autographs , photos etc.

True, but at least no-one will get bitten. Have to wait for the champions league for that!

As a form of respect for their trophy winning achievements last season, will we have to observe any pre-match, commemorative service(s) [again] for the unfortunate '96' ??

Of course i'd imagine we will have to do a 96 minute guard of honour so they can ring their trophies onto the pitch.

It's not too bad. I went to see City vs. Chelsea there last year and the pitch wasn't terrible.

I'll be there ... i'll feel doubly dirty entering yankee stadium, and also sitting with a group of liverpool supporters. There'll be an everton fan there as well, so even though the conversation won't be much, it should be good entertainment.

I'm gonna guess no, but fans will be able to read all about their magnificent title winning trophy laden season in their book though. What a piece of history.
