Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Greg Leigh to Crewe, Drury St Mirren

Forgot Drury; he was another one missing from the rags EDS game.

Good for these lads to get regular games. If any are to make it at City, they will star for these teams & return much stronger. If not, but they do 'ok' at least they are getting work in footbal, which is good for our rep.

Surprised nobody has pleaded with us to get Shay Facey, he is the one I think will have a big chance of breaking through. Definitely will play at prem level if not for city, then for someone else.

Maybe they have. He didn't play v the rags.

My only gripe with Facey is his size. I don't see how he can play cb v Negredo for instance. I always had him down as a fullback.

EDS defence is going to be struggling this season by the look of it!

Both Facey and Leigh were at the EDS game the other night and showing no signs of injuries so it would seem Patrick was picking from players who will still be there for the season.I thus expect to hear of a loan move for Facey in the near future. Drury has been looking for a good move for a while. I hope the Scottish league is that move for him.

Strange though if we have to play Kean Bryan at centre half unless PV has seen something I haven't.

Thought him & the Spanish lad made a good fist of it the other night, but I like him as a midfielder & he would have been effective there in that game.

We saw what happened when he went off. I wonder what PV will do now though, if all of the EDS defenders are gone. Not so bad at fullback, but unless I'm forgetting someone, presumably it has to be either made entirely from fullbacks & midfielders or Aderabioyo & Oseni at cb, who are both about 16 I think ?

Big difference between that & the 21-22 year olds the rags are putting out! Then of course, who plays for the U18s if they move up ? A couple of 14 year olds ?

Maybe a bit of a difficult year for one or both age groups defensively. Interesting challenge for them though.

Interesting:

SOUTHEND United have missed out on a loan swoop for Manchester City defender Adam Drury.

Shrimpers boss Phil Brown had been keen to bring the youngster in on loan to provide cover and competition in the full-back positions.

But Drury has opted against making the switch and is now expected to join St.Mirren.

“Adam feels playing in the Scottish Premier League will give him more exposure than playing in League Two,” confirmed Brown.

“However, Manchester City also wanted certain assurances about him playing and I wasn’t prepared to give them that.

“I said I would give him a chance and that if he played well he would stay in the side, just like I do with all the loan players we bring in.

“I’m not going to say anyone is definitely going to play because it doesn’t work like that and I also don’t think it would be fair on the players we already have at the club.”

We need the lad to play competitive games. Of course City want assurances he'll actually play and not sit on the bench and waste a season of development. Phil Brown can go fuck himself with his headset.

If it's Phil Brown, he probably has them sitting on the pitch not the bench.
