Always said the only thing which stops silva reaching tranny and Messi level is his (lack of) goal scoring. Between him, tevez and agreed for our best player of recent times. How lucky we are to see players of such calibre.

Wonderful piece of 'business' by the Club.

Mind you, it won't be long before the media are printing stories about his City hell and how he wants to escape and play for Barcelona......

Excellent news and suggests that Merlin will be with us for the rest of his career.

Wouldn't surprise me if tomorrow's good news is that Edin has signed a new contract - keep drip feeding positive news to wind up the haters!

Crappy day at work. Reading this cheered me up no end. No downside at all. Well chuffed he will grace us with his silky skills for a long time further

Completely made my day.... I think it shows that morale at the club is good, and positive.
Good times :)

No real excitement in this, how many years did he have on his previous contract.

As a player though, what a little fucking darling we got there, and he seems to love the club. Heard he was a little non-plus about the weather today but Zab's put him straight.

The stars we have in our team still amazes me, like some sort of change in that space-time continuum thingy-me-jig. One week we're just the loveable 'Typical City', getting beat 3-0 at home to Forest then the next week we're beating Bayern and lifting another PL trophy.

*still shaking head in surprise*

An all time great. He's the one who makes the difference. And I do think he's working on his striking, puts his foot through the ball more often now.Strangely enough I was particularly impressed when he played just off the striker rather than deeper.

I agree, he looked good there & I wonder how him & Jovetic would look in a 4-3-3.

He is letting himself & us down by not scoring more imo. He is so fucking good, & he can do it. When he came on v Arsenal, he is just clearly on another planet compared to anything they have got, but some of their players score, & if he doesn't & they do, it takes away some of the shine from his performances & makes him appear closer to their level rather than his true value.

I'm 100% certain he can score fucking shedloads of goals. I hope the Count brings it out of him.

Cheers pal, 3 years then. The reason we keep renewing early is just to sort the amortisation. It suits both party's and the players are well aware.

It just has no interest for me apart from the fact that we'll get some shit comments, either way, from those who don't quite understand what we have to do in the climate of FFP.

I agree he could score more, but I love it when our main complaint is the the best play maker in the league doesn't score enough (and we have four others who score 20 a season!)
