Pellegrini post match on outs

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

I'm assuming he'll get a run out in the League Cup & we take it from there. If he's shit, Sagna probably becomes 4th cb. Mind you, Nastasic had the worst game anybody has ever had, anywhere, ever, v Villa in the League Cup & was rewarded with a place in the team at Real Madrid...

Y never can tell in football.

IF that red card against Arsenal was responsible for Boyata not reaching his potential then Clattenburg needs a good slap, as it should never have been a red in the first place. It was a foul no doubt but Chamakh had kicked the ball into Hart's(?)arms meaning there was no goalscoring opportunity.

I know, I know, I should let it go but I'm sorry I can't.

Me thinks that as the sending off was a long time ago he should be well over it now.

It's not about whether he's over it now, it's about what that incident & others did to him then, basically ruining his confidence, & his chances at City, & he has barely played regularly in his position for ANYONE ever since.

He has missed all that time when he should have been learning and gaining experience, being passed around from one club's bench to another, his career has basically been stopped & his reputation gone from a potential star to a fucking liability, all through being thrown into the team, in the wrong circumstances, before he was ready.

When asked to play v Chelsea at fullback, he wasn't nervous or shit, he was hard as nails & fucked Drogba off on several occasions. It was chucking him into high pressure games at centre back, & the ensuing mistakes, which fucked him up.

He was out on loan to Bolton for a whole season and then half a season at Twente. What happened there? He must have been given some opportunities but he didn't pull up trees. I'm not sure every footballer would be as psychologically frail as Dedryck appears to be. Anyway no more Mr Nice Guy. This season is it for him at City anyway. It's now or never.

He went there as a player not in the best of form, & got shuffled around positions in a struggling team, with people on his case etc & ended up shitter than at City. Then, in completely shit order, went abroad & struggled badly there. All the time, he has been in a pressure situation, expected to produce quality but he's never had chance to just learn his job in the first place. Hopefully the Count can work a bit of magic on him.

At Bolton he was largely played at right back and this was in an appalling defence that was completely disorganised and not fit for the PL.

After that experience, coupled with Bolton's relegation, it's no wonder that his confidence was at a low level, at that point in his career.

Personally I don't think he'll ever make it at right back. I saw him there a couple of times last season and he never looked like getting behind a defence. You might say that the first job of a full back is to defend but nowadays full backs have to be able to overlap effectively; it's not an optional extra.

So centre back it is then and we'll see. Every City fan will wish him well but football's a very hard business. Most promising young lads never make it at all never mind to the top and City is right at the summit. Denayer looks a much better bet for the moment.

What fucking chance has a kid got, to settle into a career, with that kind of appearance record ?

One game away a Boro in the FA Cup then he's in two cup semi finals v the rags.

Chelsea at fullback, then Juventus, Poznan, Arsenal at cb (sent off) Poznan AWAY the Juventus AWAY dropped for 3 months, half a game v Sunderland then started AT ANFIELD, one game away at Bolton then kicked out for two years.

How the FUCK was he supposed to get his shit together in the middle of that lot ?

Thing is when do we see him getting a proper run of games to take that last chance?

if two (2) poor cunts break(s) a leg or tweak(s) a hammy....otherwise we'll see him in a couple league cup matches and if he looks solid he'll probably keep playing those matches if we advance until we get dumped out or hit the semis. Otherwise, he'll be getting splinters all season.

cheers

Makes sense because he'd get more game time and Sagna can play at centre back but I think Pellegrini said he saw Dedryck as a fourth centre back. Maybe he meant potentially.
