whatever the outcome with Sergio, ffs please do NOT rush to buy some old and/or second rate striker to replace him in Jan. the last thing we need is another fucking squad player on big wages whom we can't shift when an actual talent becomes available!!

well, people were decrying the decision to let Negredo leave without a replacement. maybe now the club is being forced to rectify that in January.

There may be suspicions based on any popping sound the player heard and the extent of pain and swelling but only a scan can be completely definitive I would have thought. 6 months out would presumably mean an operation on the ACL. Let's keep positive.

It did seem a bit odd that he was allowed to walk off with a potentially serious knee injury. He did look in pain when he hobbled past but I was encouraged he was not on a stretcher. I know this has already been covered but if u have swelling on the knee them why walk on it?

However, last year we looked brilliant, rather than he looked brilliant and the rest just pass to him. We also had Negredo. Now we have Dzeko, Jovetic for 1 game in 3 and a Spaniard who looked like he'd won a competition to play up front for the day. He doesn't have the pace or strength to play up front on his own yet and that was against a defence that had probably never seen a video of him.

We need Silva back ASAP and the likes of Yaya and Nasri really need to step up. With all the games in December, we need to find an answer to playing with Kun now. We've looked pretty good since the Bayern game, but he's been a big part of it. We looked good for most of yesterday, but quite toothless, so someone else needs to take on the goalscoring.

It depends on the extent of the injury to Kun, of course. But our next run of 6 league games is the easiest (in theory) run of games we have this season. It should give us time to sort it our whilst picking up plenty of points. If it's a short-term injury we'll have him back, if not we'll have January in which to bring someone in (perhaps on loan). Our only threat this year is Chelsea, and if that dirty bastard up front gets an injury then they are worse off than us. We're still in this title race whatever the case with Kun is, although we'd obviously be in with a better chance if he recovers quickly.

Christian Martin of Fox Sports says it's bruised ligaments not torn. Kun out for a month. Fingers crossed.

Yes apparently argentine Journo, The relevant tweet translates as follows:
"The injury he suffered Kun Agüero is a strained medial collateral ligament in his left knee. 30 days without playing."

That sounds very encouraging. Maybe I can celebrate yesterday's win now.......I'm sure there are some cans of Stella somewhere.

What's the point of jumping to any conclusions or assumption's until he's had a scan and it's confirmed either way then no one knows.

How could he know? City isn't going to do the scan until tomorrow or Tuesday, so it's unlikely even the club doctors know the extent of the injury fully. Any journo suggesting he's out for a week or a year is guessing, in the knowledge that he's a hot topic and you therefore need to be saying something.

Apparently he had a scan today. I think the reports we are hearing are either 'leaked' or just gossip. Either way, we should wait for official news as u suggest.

If he has had a scan today then that means there isn't much swelling around the knee . If he is having a scan in a couple of days that means there is a lot of swelling around the knee. Lots of bullshit gossip going around ........... when MCFC go official that's the only real news worth waiting for and listening to ;-) agreed.

Even if it's technically a month out, it may take several games etc before he gets his full confidence back to sprint, shoot etc.

May be 6 weeks or more still before we see the same player.

Agreed that even this optimistic assessment probably means 6 weeks out. He was supposed to have a scan today and no reason to believe he didnt. As to how news might leak out it could easily be Kun himself talking to friends. Still this is speculation of course. Personally I'm in the market for some relatively encouraging gossip at this point! If people don't want to read gossip why come on this thread? Same goes for transfer rumours.

If he had a scan today then he will have to wait four weeks before getting a choose and book appointment to go see a consultant. He will have spent most of today on the phone trying to make said appointment and if he managed to get one it won't be till February.

He'll have a scan today, guaranteed. They may tell the press tomorrow because it buys them 24hrs to give the news how they want to, but the power sources within City and the player will already know what the diagnosis is from an MRI.

Nfl players who tear up their knee in 26 bits have an MRI within 24hrs, no matter how badly shredded it is and Aguero will be no different
