My guess would be that Jovetic could well leave in the Summer the way things are going. That would leave a space for Iheanachu. Complete speculation on my part. It would be easy to sell Jovetic to Juventus for instance. A pity because I rate him but he hasn't done enough to justify staying unless he really gets his mojo for the rest of the season.

I believe we saw this exact same transformation with Negredo, when he joined the club, until sadly turned against the unique and inimitable weather of Rainy City, etc. Bony will hit the ground running (on his return from the ACON) and will definitely reduce some of the burden of goal scoring responsibilities on Sergio.

Given Jovetic's disappointing, and to be honest, sporadic performances e.g. last Sunday; Milner was bloomin brilliant, when he moved up front and embarrassed our alleged established forward by stuffing in 2 great goals; we absolutely need a more proven partner for Sergio.

He's quicker, technically more accomplished and successful in front of goal that Edin, I think it's a brilliant statement of our progress if we have the 2 highest goal scorers in the BPL playing for the club, backed up with Dzeko and Jovetic ( I still beleive Stefan will come good).

Bony is a good player now, at City he may become a great player!

I think you may well be right. The powers that be must be losing patience, though the Itslian clubs are not keen to match his wages.

Aguero, Bony, Iheanacho and either Jovetic or Dzeko. I'm torn tbh. Personally I'd let the latter two both go and freshen up our forward line completely.

If he scores the winner at the swamp with his shoulder . Money well spent .:) Tbh I think its a really good signing if true . Been scoring for nee on two years in the prem . Can only get better with quality service . Worry about who goes in the summer when it comes for now great addition to our fragile front line

Bony in means Dzeko or Jovetic out imo.

If that's what the Count wants, then so be it. Wonder if Jovetic may get flirted from the Champs Lg squad.

This may sound spastic but for me it's jayko who stays and Jojo who goes. Not even a hard decision.

Cheers

Jovetic has not fit into the side, in the role I think he has been signed for. Unless he steps it up very quickly, his position is on the line I think. Let himself down on Sunday. Not really his fault, but still, he was completely outclassed as a striker by James Milner. Dzeko is proven, he isn't.

Didn't do himself any favours at all on Sunday & needs some big performances.

Anyone who sees this any differently is absolutely paying zero fucking attention.

Cheers

A point I made in another thread. Anyone that tries to defend his performance last Sunday is off their head.

Jayko Boner And Aguero. Real Madrid would jism themselves with that forward line.

Options.

Maybe it's been covered elsewhere in the thread, but don't we have an issue with needing a couple of additional home grown players in the squad in order to name a 25 man squad?

Ian Nacho will be exempt from registration due to his age (I think) but he is still a gamble at this stage, so would signing Bony mean that we went into the new season yet again, with less than the 25 registered senior players allowed?

It seems if we sign Bony, signs point to Ross Barkley to replace jovetic and an English left back to replace Kolarov (how is Baines' contract doing?)

Can't understand why some people are underwhelmed! He's got more prem goals than aguero in 2014! He's never injured, he's strong, quick, holds it up, has quick feet, can score from 2 yards or 20 yards, good attitude and is half the price of anyone who will score the same amount of goals!

Also, why does jovetic or dzeko have to leave? Next year we will have a 25 man CL squad and we need 4 strikers anyway! I think everyone gets so hung up on the idea of bringing through EDS players, we've played MILNER upfront over the xmas period rather than any EDS striker! These players need to go out on loan to a decent team and prove it before they are considered for our first team! Eg. Lopes at Lille and Zuculini at Valencia, and neither of those are tearing up trees! Once they've proved they can do it at the top level then they can join the first team! Am I the only one who thinks this?

As soon as the shite payed 28 mill for wooney it all went tits up . Millions for kicking a bag of wind around crazy . As said by others Jan is a time to get screwed . But right now we have one striker chasing three comps . If he helps to get us one of them so be it

was wondering similarly, at least for chumps league registration.

if we sign bony who will be dropped?

i know kola is the the latest target for fan attacks, but we need two left backs in the squad.

maybe it's jojo or we have other moves we are working on.

http://www.theguardian.com/football/201 ... ester-city:

City have to include at least five homegrown players and a maximum of 16 who are classed as overseas in a Champions League squad that has been reduced to 21 because of Uefa’s financial fair play sanctions. Premier League rules allow no more than 17 non-homegrown players.

Manuel Pellegrini wants to add either Porto’s Eliaquim Mangala or Roma’s Mehdi Benatia to his central defence which would bring the number of “foreign” players in the squad to 18.

City would then not be able to register one of their overseas contingent for their 25-man Premier League squad and would have to drop two from the Champions League squad.

this was from an article i believe i posted from the guardian in august.

so with bony that would take us back up to 18 non-homegrown players again, no?

was sinclair one of our homegrown players?

EDIT: Just looked it up. no. and here's the list:

http://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague ... lub=52919/

won't likely matter as we would surely register an EDS player in his stead (if we sell him), unless jovetic or dzeko are in trouble to be sent out or left out of the champions league.

surely jovetic is the more likely candidate if anything like that occurs.

i'd like to keep him though.

only because one could speculate that neither of these players want to be left out of the champions league squad, and then who are we going to leave out?

we can only register 21 this year. is bony agreeing to be left out as part of the conditions of the deal?

seems unlikely.

wait...

maybe boyata???

can we replace him with a EDS player to meet the needs?

It's got nothing to do with wanting our kids to play, or even wanting senior players to leave.

It's because to name a 25 man squad, we have to have a certain number of locally trained players. If we don't, we have to proportionately reduce the squad size.
