MDM Sent off last season and a penalty given for a foul outside the box was shocking, also we went to sleep for their injury time Alves goal.

My 11 would be

Hart

Sagna......Kompany......Mangala......Clichy

Fernando......Fernandinho

Nasri.................................Silva

Dzeko

Aguero

Subs
Milner
Zabba
Navas
Bony
MDM
Lampard

get stuck into them?!

you clearly don't remember the games against them last season where our lads only had to look at barca player to concede a freekick

the game at the etihad was one of the few occasions where i have seen a team win a freekick following a challenge where no opposition player was close to the action... pique on valdes. the swedish ref was a proper cunt in that game.

Okay, get stuck in in a competitive context, not talking about a physical approach, do not be afraid of them, take the game to them.

On the team, I think we would be mad to play the two F's together in a central four with 2 up and no width from the full backs. We have to have five in midfield, Barca will cut the two F's to shreds imo unless there is an extra body in there. People were encouraged by Saturday. To me it emphasised only what a massive difference Ya Ya makes to us. You cant take him out then go 4 in mf.

Pellers has just advised that Milner is 100% fit for tomorrows game so take out Dzeko and out Silva central and Milner wide

i'm pretty negative about tomorrow. My son and i had a FIFA 15 matchup this weekend and he was Barca and I was City and he won 8-1.

Then yesterday i beat him twice whilst playing vs his Barca using Munchkins and then Madrid respectively 2-1 both times.

We're fucking hosed. I can't even watch because i'm in a cunting fuck workshop all afternoon, which is good news in case we lose...but if we win i'll have it DVRd for later. Win fucking win, amirite?

His pace and directness will give them something to think about, make it less likely that their left back(Alba?) will spend his time camped in our half.

thats what i was thinking. but using up a starting spot simply to keep Alba on the back foot isn't smart. of course if Navas produces and can stop hitting the first man then its a good move.

This can be very dangerous, but then again I do not think we can throw Barcelona as Cheski. We have to outplay them. Without Yaya will be difficult..

I'd start milner instead of jayko. Didn't we prove we need a 5 man midfield in Europe?

I "get" that our /not/ 4-4-2 worked wonders against weaker Prem opposition but I don't think jayko and Kun will work vs barca.

Cheers

Just my angle on tonight's game ..........

Firstly Pellegrini totally fucked up tactically in this home fixture last year plus a shocking refereeing performance . I fear the same sort of refereeing performance again tonight BUT Pellegrini seems very bullish about how we are going to perform tonight so surely he has learnt from his tactical errors last season . IF we score first and we still have eleven on the pitch (tongue in cheek) the dynamics of the tie are hugely in our favour and huge questions will be asked of Barca .
Not really here

Its good news if Milner is fit, with yaya out he should play central.
If there was a chance of dzeko putting the same effort he did on saturday then he should start, playing like that again two games in a row is a big ask, but IF he did he would give their centre backs a lot to think about. I think pelligrini will pick two up top but one to drop deeper than usual.
Re Navas, can he leave nasri out after his last two games?

I'd be tempted to play that team, but the danger is that once again, without Dzeko, Navas will just be getting the ball with nobody to aim at & either passing backwards or whacking it near post while Aguero stands on the penalty spot with 3 Barca players marking him. Also if we do play that system, we need to have the guts to actually pass the ball this time, rather than just kick it straight to the nearest Barca player. Make them run a bit, not just us.

I worry that the only time we caused Bayern any problem was when Jovetic came on to partner Aguero. Until then, they passed us to death with ten men.

Perhaps if it could be an option to play like that for a while then suddenly hit them with Dzeko, maybe Bony, crosses, the lot, for the last half hour.

By 'winner' do you mean the fourth goal allowing us to go to Spain with a comfortable lead?
I like the look of that side too. I would far rather have Milner in than Fernando. Think it might swing whether he signs too
