***Burnley POST Match Thread*** (split from Matchday thread)

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

We're all aware that it's up to the players once they cross the white line but a manager has to set up the team as well as possible and imspire the players to give of their best. The players are completely flat and that is something he needs to sort out. He doesn't seem to have the least idea how to do so. There is still time to finish the season suggesting that next season will be different. If that doesn't happen he'll be on his bike and deservedly so. Imo.

not that bad? the talent has never been a question. it's their attitudes. something there seems amiss.

is the count a-count-able as well?

surely, but so are our players with long term contracts and all too frequent poor, uninspiring performances.

If they prefer a different tactic or they don't like the manager, they can sort it in the summer.

Nothing Pellegrini does or doesn't do, forces those players to play like that against a team like that.

We played exactly like that, & were just as half arsed, v Leicester. I was worried by it at the time & said so.

But you're missing the point Ted. Pellegrini had an opportunity to lay down the law and give the squad a kick up the arse. The team that played Leicester WON. This was a prime opportunity for our manager to make a point to that bunch of cunts that let us down. Instead he bottled it and reverted to norm, as he has always and will always do.

Personally I've had enough now.

Obviously not, the managers job is just to say I'll play one fucking way and you'll like it or lump it.

The players aren;t at their best, we can all see that, but still, there's no fucking change.

Maybe he could play one or two of the youth, at least they'd want to prove. But no, same old, same old.

We need huge change, and that includes Pellers system.

Well if you haven't got a fucking clue, and you admit it, why are you saying I'm talking shite when I say there's fuck all he could have done ?

You either have an idea what he could have done, or you are just being a twat because we have lost.

If you think there is something different Pellegrini should have done, then fucking say so. I don't believe it would have made any fucking difference what he did; we were shite, & no trick would fix it. If you think I'm talking shite saying that, then fucking discuss it rather than just fucking sulking.

Oh shut the fuck up you boring cunt. I've played and coached/managed football for over 30 years now and there's always something you can do.

The fact that you talk about what he can do is irrelevant, and that's because it's all hypothetical. What I would do is a non-story, it's that simple.

And I'm never just a twat because we have lost, you're just being a twat because we haven't won and want to prove some kind of point. Like me, you probably have problems slating the manager but fuck me, if you can't see that we're not actually playing to our strengths then you're being a little blinded mate. So what setup would be so much better ?

Maybe that is true about Pellegrini, I don't know him,but they had the ball & the opportunity to fight for the title.

The players let us down. Again.

We seem that we don't actually have a tactic and everyone had figured us out. We do the same thing every single time, pass to the winger or left back that sends the ball in, but reaches the first defender.

This is the thing that repeats every game for us and we seem clueless beyond this point.

The players are playing like cunts

The manager is being a cunt by playing these same players week in week out and expecting different results

The players.

So, the players can't play to his system. Why not play to the squad strengths, including youth, to get the best out of them?

Or, in your eyes, we keep playing the same system that players don't agree with.

That they don't care enough to play for us.

That's a fair comment, in your opinion, but why play them then?

I dreaded Jovetic coming on as nobody can understand his play, but there he was, trying his best again.

I doubt he has any idea how to persuade them to play better.

I know I don't. If it was not for the top 4 etc, I would drop most of them. But we can't; we have to rely on them.

I'm not trying to make excuses given the apparent attitude on the field, but..........at the beginning of the season I was worried about burn out. We played 60 games last season and then there was the World Cup. Zaba, for e.g., played most games last season then went all the way to the World Cup final. I can't believe he has an attitude problem. Looks to me lke our lads have hit a brick wall?

I'm sure there is some truth in that, but not enough to excuse that, after 10 days off.
