100 mil for Nasri, Kolarov, Dzeko, Yaya and Jovetic

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

100 mil for Nasri, Kolarov, Dzeko, Yaya and Jovetic

Postby PeterParker » Mon Mar 30, 2015 12:26 pm

Would you sell them? Or better yet, if a variety of clubs would offer that amount of money for them, would you let them go in the summer? Is that amount of money a good deal? If yes, why, if no, again, why? Who would you keep?

Yaya - 31 years
Nasri - almost 28 years
Dzeko - 29 years
Kolarov - 29 years
Jovetic - 25 years

I guess an average of £20m wouldnt be too bad though I'd expect we could get more for some of them. Nasri could get 25, Jovetic too. Kolarov we'd be lucky to get 10. Yaya will still get £20m and Dzeko is a proven goalscorer so could get close to £25m i reckon.

But in general I wouldn't be disappointed with that return, no.

I reckon that's fair market value for all five, but wouldn't want to lose all of them at once, especially as we'd have to outlay close to £200m to replace them all in one window.

I'd do Yaya, Kolarov and Jovetic this window, and Dzeko and Nasri the next for that kind of money, or possibly a bit more.

Nasri has a new contract so would cost us if we initiated the move, if he goes I would keep Jovetic. Yaya wont go anywhere but PSG IMO, they are the only ones daft enough to pay him the money (or Valencia).

£10m Kolarov - Angelino
£25m Jovetic - Barker
£25m Dzeko - Cole/Iheancho
£15m Yaya - Pogba £60m

Make a £15m profit and keep Nasri

I'd cash in on Nasri too if it meant we could get an upgrade on the left wing. Reus/Isco perhaps. Don't seriously think we could get either though.

Don't forget Marcos Lopes at Lille! Infact out of all the EDS youngsters you listed, he has the most experience in senior football.

Well according to transfermarkt, the following are their current values, so £100M would be a good return. But i guess it depends on who we would have lined up as to whether they all go this window or not.

PeterParker wrote:Yaya - 31 years £24.6M
Nasri - almost 28 years £18.48M
Dzeko - 29 years £21.16M
Kolarov - 29 years £9.68M
Jovetic - 25 years £17.6M

Which totals £91.52M.........

Although those transfer fees are pretty accurate, in my opinion (maybe Nasri's worth a bit more and Kolarov a bit less), you've got to take into account the fact that if we sold all five players for their stated values, other clubs would know we had money to spend, and inflate the values of their players accordingly.

I'd be amazed if we got 20 mil for any of them. I wouldn't especially like to see any of them go bar Kolarov, but I won't shed any tears either, if younger & BETTER replacements are brought in. Don't think all should go in one season though.

I'd be stunned if we got anywhere near £100m for that lot.

Id do everything to get Jovetic packaged in a deal for Pogba as Juve clearly want him - tried to get him 2yrs ago - and it would clearly give us a leg up in Pogba negotiations, if we have something they actively covet. I'd say his fair value is around £18m.

Ya Ya, at his age and wage bill, is worth £15m tops. The time to fully cash in on him was last summer, but that's gone now. I'd sell but we won't get anything like a huge fee now

Edins worth around £15m - £18m. The Prob here is that it's largely Italian clubs who covet him and they plead absolute poverty all the time.

Nasri has pissed off an awful lot of people in footy, and seems a polarising figure. Personally I'd retain him but I'm not the boss - Id reckon if we could get anything near £12m we'd have done well.

Kolarov, at his age and wage packet, is worth £7m tops. This my total is around £65m - £70m and that's being kind. To get monies we have to have buyers - beside Italian clubs wanting loans, who is buying these players?

Would get £20 million plus easy for Dzeko as has already been posted he is a proven goal scorer . Yaya has to go this summer , hope the club do it all properly he has been a very special player for us but his time is done here . Will be interesting to see how the Nasri situation develops , I would guess we could get 22 / 24 million for him .

i don't think we'd get near 100m for that lot.

what have Kolarov, Jovetic, and Yaya done to warrant big price tags? Sure Yaya had a great season last year but he's fallen off the map and other clubs know that.

and other clubs know that we're looking for a bit of a rehaul and have to deal with FFP. so, they're going to try and offer cheap money hoping we'll take almost anything we can get.

I we get £75M for the lot I would be surprised. The key as already said is getting better replacements in for at least 2 of them and most specifically in midfield if Nasri and Yaya go.

What has Yaya done? He's African POTY for the third? successive year and he's just won the African cup of nations. Despite a low key season for City he's still managed 9 goals in all comps. Hardly fallen off the map.

How do other clubs know we're looking for a rehaul? Did our learned friends in the media tell them?

I'm with you on Kolarov if we're taking £20m as an average, I don't think we'd get even half that for him.

Jovetic, it depends on who's interested, still plenty of potential for a great player when he reaches his peak years IF injury doesn't get in the way. If anyone outside Italy is interested we may get close to £20m for him.

Dzeko was a 'proven goalscorer'. We know he can do it, but his record in the Premier League this season is dire. If he doesn't finish with a bang, his value is heavily diminished.

I'd say the fact our squad is one of the oldest in both the Premier League and mid-upper echelons of Champions League is a bit of a giveaway, as would be the (hypothetical) scenario of us offloading five players at once.

It's still guesswork though, our average starting XI this season is 28.9. The oldest in the PL but hardly in desperate need of a rehaul or for there to be an assumption that a rehaul is the plan.

I'd do those deals today if they were remotely possible. Pogba is going to be the best midfield player over the next decade. We must get him. Must. I doubt we will though.

Put a few academy kids in and the squad and the average age would be perfectly ok. The average age thing is Neville inspired nonsense. If all 11 in the team were James Milner, they would run Liverpool, Arsenal or Chelsea off the pitch. It's the type of players which is more of a problem than the average age.

I think we also have the highest (or second highest) median age, which is a bit more significant. And it's the age of the starting XI, not the squad.
