Only last weekend it was all Benitez to City in the Irish Rag Tops. Now it's Klopp. Somebody else by this weekend no doubt.

Klopp would be excellent for us if there ISNT a plan to bring in Guardiola . Klopp would certainly bring back the passion and get the Etihad rocking / buzzing again and as previous posters have said the style and pace of Dortmund 2 years ago was pure class and breathtaking to watch . Don't forget Dortmund came very close to beating Bayern in CL cup final plus ran them very close in the league before they cashed in on their best players .

Anyway, back to Klopp ..... I would be happy to see him, especially if he could adjust the team to play like Dortmund did at the Etihad a couple of years ago, but I do not expect him to come to us; he may want more control than he would get here and he doesn't seem to fit our recent profile. As for his bad year this year, well, sometimes managers (not just football managers) do stay in an organisation too long and lose the edge.

As has been said tho...this team can't play his way without sending about 8 if the cunts packing. Which I'm all in favor of.

This Klopp retirement on the same day the Hamburger SV brings in his 4th Manager of the season (and they´ll still go down) is the Topnews here in Germany, a big surprise. Also some commentators feeds the rumour mill with talks about "he´d had broken with parts of the Team" etc.

Worte, die man bei Englands Meister Manchester City, der seit längerem lose mit Klopp in Verbindung gebracht wird und wohl bereits einen Nachfolger für Manuel Pellegrini sucht, gerne vernommen haben wird.

If Pep isn't on the horizon after next season, then Klopp is one of very few alternatives imo. Most managers imo are a downgrade on Mancini & Pellegrini. Klopp is potentially equal to or better than those two. Ancelotti, possibly DeBoer, Klopp, or promote Vieira.

Can't see much else other than those, if Pep isn't on the agenda. Frank Rijkaard maybe ?

If Pep is definitely lined up, the Count will probably get another season. Nothing else would make sense.

A number of guys could be on our radar for our manager next season.

Klopp is one of them. He is now available. This is where the fellas at Ivory Towers need to earn their corn. Sound out who is and isn't available. None of this waiting for Pep for my money. No guarantee he would come at the end of it. I think a decision will be made in the summer for a permanent placement, not an interim. Sometimes timing and availability are the prominent factors.

I'd not be disapppointed with Klopp. But I also wouldn't cry if it was Ancelotti. Or Pep. Or a proper man manager. Or even Pellegrini.

Benitez though? Not on your fucking nelly

The problem with Klopp is that his English is better than all the other managers in the PL and the reporters.

Agree with this . We are in the shit and a club our size and stature should wait for no fucker ! ..........

if Klopp has made himself available we should be hiring him asap . After all he could pretty well choose to manage ANY top club in Europe .Under Pellegrini we have won just 4 of the last 15 matches ???? any manager at an elite club would be sacked by now surely , something is telling me he is being kept in charge for a reason ? maybe I am wrong and reading the situation wrong but why would our owners trust in Pellegrini with a major overhaul in the summer ???? We cannot afford to get this situation wrong !

I very much doubt they will wait for Pep unless they know he is definitely coming.

If he is coming then I think it's the Count of Vieira for a season. Most likely the Count.

If Guardiola is coming, I'd put up with Phil Neal for a season, never mind the Count.

But there is no such thing as guaranteed to be coming. If we want Pep, great, make him an offer he can't refuse. To come this summer though. No one can 100% say what they will do in a year. Family, health, raison d'être can all have an effect.

We could shaft ourselves for a year. Also, an interim appointment will be less likely to use the academy and maybe let players get away with more than they should. Why should a guy in a job for a year care as much as a guy who has the permanent job?

That's why you keep the Count in those circumstances. Nothing else makes sense.

I think they have a great relationship with Pep & will know if he is planning to continue at Bayern after next season or if he wants to come to City. He will be offered a contract by Bayern. We will know if he signs it. I imagine Txiki already knows what Pep's plans are. Unless of course Pep gets dicked out of the CL. Then they might not offer him the deal. They turn faster than our lot, over there.

I recon City will know by summer, whether Pep is coming to City in 2016. If he's not interested at all, they will know already.

Bayern btw, have some club legends getting old together.

Pep may prefer to build here rather than there, where expectations are immense.

So hypothetically, in June 2016, he says "do you know what lads, my wife has decided she won't live in England, my kids are ill, thanks for that great offer, but I'm afraid I've got to say no", do we just have potentially written off a season? Of course, next year we may do well and win a pot or two. Do we then just get rid of that guy?

I get what you are saying, that he is worth waiting for, but I just think it's too risky

The only logical thinking at the moment must be Pellegrini is still in charge so we get 4th and CL qualification otherwise he would have been sacked last Monday morning ? Klopp is potentially as good as Guardiola this is why we as a club should NOT wait for anyone ........how can our owners run MCFC as a world wide business when some cunt is keeping them waiting when the show has gone tits up big time ??? Our situation is perilous , it needs fixing long term right now .
