FA Cup semi final

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Bond used the 'New Manager' syndrome to enthuse the side, tighten things up at the back and simplify things when going forward. Good results started to follow and, as confidence grew, the team had a good Cup run and reached the final.

The only trouble was that the following season was largely disappointing, as things didn't go quite as well as we'd all hoped it would and then, in the season after that (1982/83), Bond jumped ship and City ended up by being relegated.

I wonder if this sort of parallel will continue, in the same way, for Villa ??

Great shout! Hopefully they go and win the thing.

Absolutely.

Whinger's men have been having delusions of adequacy of late and, IMHO, they deserve to publicly 'come a cropper' in the Final, to bring them back to earth.

I also hope that the Villa players now have their minds on Wembley again and don't do themselves justice against us.

Villa are guaranteed to be in Europe next season, who would have thunk it! Sweet victory for them yesterday, I really hope they go on to win it.

Only if they win it. UEFA have changed rule to say runners up in cup where winners have already qualified for champs league now no longer get a Europa slot.

When did that happen?

Must have been this season. Takes effect from 2015/16.

Might mean spuds or saints qualify for Europe by finishing seventh

I'd prefer them to give Europa to a cup runner up than some scrubs in 6th or 7th. Truthfully it prollee hinders the team in 6th from taking a solid shot at top 4 as well. Trust me..neither City nor scouse filth want Europa league football next season

Deliberate ploy by uefa then?

Seems convenient for the biggest clubs that they 'Take out' teams that could be a threat to the established teams by playing them in the Thursday cup.

By the way, is there any data to prove that teams do worse in the league the following season, or is it just our gut feeling?

I hope so.
Your right leg I like; I've got nothing against your right leg. The trouble is neither have you.
