As a Newcastle manager, in spite of everything else, he's surpassed the record of Alan "I sit on the fence" Shearer.

He's not quite the complete and embarassing failure that the TV 'pundit' was/is.

I wanted to punch that bald twat so badly when watching tonight's MoTD and his summing up of our season - the one small crumb of comfort for me is that Crouch just took his record for most headed Prem goals.

He's just been sacked by Newcastle, along with coach Stone. The tabloids are taking it as a sign that Maclaren will be announced soon.

I wonder if McClaren still has his brolly, or whether he ditched it long ago ??
