iwasthere2012 wrote:Had a good chat with my best mate over a fair few pints on Friday night. He's a life long Liverpool fan and in despair at the moment. He thinks they are gone to shit. He knows they've squandered the money for Suarez and can't see things getting better any time soon. There is trouble behind the scenes and he reckons Sterling is right to get out.
There is also the rumour going around that a lot of the players aren't happy and that Stevie G. was asked but wouldn't sign another contract. Rodgers seems to be the problem. It certainly had that ring about it yesterday. Who knows what they'll do this summer.

It was interesting to hear Gerrard last week at his canonization saying that he had a great relationship with the manager, when all things which have leaked over the course of the last year or two, suggest that this is quite untrue. Of course, him saying that is him keeping the lid on the issue for the good of the club, but it's hard to see how the players who were there last season, can have any respect for how he handled the Suarez transfer.

He sold one of the best players in the world, and replaced him with Ricky fucking Lambert. He compounded that by bringing in Balotelli on an ego trip that he would succeed where everyone else has failed, and this season they have scored something like 50 goals less in the league, half of what they achieved last season. They've blamed Sturridge being injured, but they have had Sterling, Lambert, Balotelli, Borini available through most of the season, yet Gerrard at 36 years of age is still their highest scorer. Despite scoring less, they've still conceded the same number as last season - and I remember the discussion on here last summer where we talked about strengthening the defence, as you would never be able to buy another Suarez.....obviously Brendan disagreed.

His error of judgement in handling the Suarez money, for me would mean he had to go, and someone would have to come in with some bollocks to get rid of a lot of the jokers Rodgers has signed and get the half-decent players back on side, as if Rodgers were still there mismanaging next season, I reckon Countinho, Henderson could find moves to better clubs leaving them in a real fucking mess.

Didn't they win the best fans award last season too? (Despite booing us every time we touched the ball at Anfield)

Seeing those horrible fans reminds me that Gerrard's family got ugly threats when he looked like he was off to Chelsea. Must have regretted his decision to stay every day since.

BBC reporting a rejected bid from us for £25m. Apparently they want £50m. Think we might just move on, jokers.

We've made a bid, they've said they want double. The price will therefore be about £35m. Key will be how much is up front, how much is related to what he wins with us etc.

Giving them Dzeko or Jovetic is also an option. Suspect it'll be undisclosed so they can make it sound like £50m for a player they all say is overrated.

Personally I'd give them the lot now so Brenda can spend it, rather than still owing them £15m when a decent manager is in charge.

There's book on this as well, Graham Johnson - football and gangsters, how organised crime controls the beautiful game. Not a bad read

They value him at £50m, but offered him £100k/week, while Martin Skrtel and Glen Johnson are on 90. I reckon they'd want £75m for Sturridge as well? Deluded cunts.

Yep. Somewhere between £30-40 is my guess.

Those who watched the Al Mubarak interview heard him say that "the market" is essentially crazy. I know he didn't use those words but effectively that's what he was saying.

Is Arsenal willing to deplete much of their transfer kitty for him? I'm actually also thinking Chelsea might swoop in for him. The London thing is a concern.
