Released list

Postby john@staustell » Wed Jun 10, 2015 1:54 pm

More than retained list these days!

http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/ ... ds-9426661?

Manchester City have retained goalkeeper Richard Wright but Micah Richards will be released by the club.

Richards, 26, spent last season on loan at Serie A side Fiorentina and is one of six players set to leave City at the end of the month.

Swedish striker John Guidetti will leave on a free transfer, while Dominic Oduro, Greg Leigh and Adam Drury will also be released.

Frank Lampard is listed among the six, since his contract officially expires on June 30

Didnt release he was 37, i always said Stu taylor had the best job in the world, now that applies to wright. At least Wright played at some stage of his career, i dont think Taylor ever played........he looked as though he was sound and the lads liked him goes along way.

What sort of wedge would these be on? 2/3k a week? More?

Wright's also a coach. Don't understand the ridicule. The club is clearly not planning to play him outside of an emergency, so he's getting paid to do his job, which is training/coaching and being available for selection.

Sylvain Distin, age 37!! released by Everton (played 18 games season just gone, 13 in the prem) & 37 season before last, what a trooper! I reckon he could still get another season possibly two in League 1?

League 1? I think he'd be a steady hand in a champo side with something to prove and a good CB partner beside him.

cheers

I think he might've meant the French first division, Ligue 1.

I wonder if he'll end up at Liverpool (if he passes a medical) since Bodgers can't be trusted with serious money these days.

i'd say at his age the challenge would be simple....play in a the prem on a year's contract or play in the Championship on a couple year deal.

Depends on if he needs the dosh or not. If he's set, i might just say "fuck it." Also, as someone else said...the OP likely meant the French league and not actual League 1, but Leeg Oooon. Which i could see for sure. Why not fucking do it. I bet he can find a club there to give him a multiyear deal, the scrappy old cunt.

cheers
