Exactly. Laughable perspective.

We're just going to go sign 4 or 5 official partners in Asia or South America and we've nailed it.

I'm excited by this development if we've got the kid. He's an exciting little shit. Cambridge blue will look good on the lad.

Not to mention getting wages down to 59 percent of revenue by a combination of increased revenue and reduced 'front-loaded' player contracts. None of it particularly glamorous but all of it absolutely essential if we're going to go after big names at the same time as complying with UEFA's attempts to hamstring us.

If he played for us? No. And we wouldn't be selling him unless he was half crap in which case his valuation would be more realistic. Instead he's been fantastic, albeit more so with Sturridge and Suarez. But slot him into our side and he'll have even more quality. Therein lies his true value. Make sense?

Cheers

No but thanks it was a nice read cheers.

I can't help the fact that you are half retard.

And I think a degree of it's Football talk would help. Cheers.

Just to add some context, the year before he came in our wage bill was 87% of revenue.

i'd have to agree with that. If it were Pogba i'd feel differently.

It's gone worryingly quiet on the pogba front. It's starting to remind me of some previous windows where big names have been linked and 2nd or 3rd choices have come instead.

WTF is world class? Who says what the definition of world class is? I would wager we all have our own opinions on it and there is no RIGHT answer, its all about opinions.

I would have thought the US based posters would know a little more on this as FSG seem to like to play hardball. Arsenal activated the release clause fee for Suarez, yet FSG said fuckoff he isnt going anywhere and they got him to sign a new contract. They knew Barca would come calling with big bucks, they seem very savvy in the business world. I think we either have to pay up or walk away, and I seriously hope we walk away.

I don't come on here for accounts talk :(

Remember the days when we used to laugh and ask arsenal if they were a football team or a software company? You know back when they were bragging about profits while we were buying stars and winning shit?

If we can believe what we hear and read were to back with another bid @ around 45m, I like Sterling but at 45-50 million its a lot of money for the risk involved.

Here's an idea - if you don't want to talk about that then don't quote it thus furthering the conversation.

It was in response to a poster calling our CEO a clown.

No he absolutely wasn't considered world class when we signed him. There were not loads of people saying 'let's sign Aguero'. In fact there were probably more a year or two earlier when he was cheaper (& headless).

Isco was not world class when Real signed him & they are in for plenty of players like that. In fact it could be argued (correctly imo) that Pogba isn't world class now.

Aguero was a hugely talented prospect to be world class in the future, not the finished article. If he had been that sought after, Barca would have signed him instead of Sanchez.

He looked world class when he made his debut against Swansea

And became rated as such, during his time at City, where he went from 3rd choice striker for Argentina, to first choice & one of the most sought after players in the world.

Sergio Aguero, Argentina, 2010 World Cup: P1, goals 0, used sub x2 v Korea '75 , v Germany '75. Gonzalo Higuain p4 goals 4 Carlos Tevez P4 goals 2.

Apologies, Monday morning blues.

Speaking of stars, what are we going to do with the stars on the crest when we win the CL?

Sterling is worth whatever we will pay.

Its really not like money actually matters at the moment. If he improves the first 11, he should be bought, if he's English too, that's a big bonus.

For us right now, its totally ok to pay £50 million just because that's what it costs to get what we want and need.

It might be a good point about waiting a season for him though - I really don't think any of the others will fork out 50 million either - wait until jan & a cheeky loan bid??

I think the whole reason we're willing to bid so high is to get our man now, if we wait the price will drop but that'll also mean that others would be chasing his signature.

Chelsea will buy him if they find the money available after filling their priority positions. And if we dump on him after tapping im up, he will go anywhere but City.

Getting 1 in might just be the start, I hope so as 50 mill is an arse kicking, neither his agent or us seem to have seen coming. Bodgers if they get 50 mill has whooped us in Public, The process of bids has also been from the scouse end, Cringy for such a big fee. 50 mill is mental, we have to get him or look like chumps.

This.

If Sterling was available for £25 million rising to £30 million say, you'd have all the top teams in Europe on him in a flash.

Worth remembering this kid is 20 years old, and for someone so young, is statistically good in output, very experienced for his age in a demandingly physical league with oodles of room for growth. Also he is the current "golden boy" (voted world best young player...).

He's no total duffer chaps, there's enough there to get clubs hard. The only thing putting clubs off is the price and that high value weirdly is our advantage right now!

Course we have seen it coming. It's half what Pellegrini said he thought he would cost, about 2 months ago.

Exactly. He's much more likely heading to Arsenal or Chelsea if we don't sign him this window.
