I see a little silhouetto of a man,
Scaramouche, Scaramouche, its Raheem Sterling!
He's as fast as lightning,
Very, very frightening me.
Raheem Sterling.
Raheem Sterling,
Raheem Sterling,

Magnifico.

Is the tradition back again?

Because the reporting throughout this saga has been very accurate hasn't it?

So here's a comparison:

Van Persie, largely considered a roaring success at United, won them a league single handed apparently, played a total of 83 games, costing them £25m + around £12m per season for 3 years. They have recouped £5m, so the total cost per game is £56m / 83 = £670,000 per game

Sterling on the other hand, let's call it £49m plus £100k a week basic wage. So after 3 years, he will have cost us £65m. If he plays 100 games in that time, that's less per game than van Persie. If we sold him, it would still be for £20m + making him around half he cost of van persie

But here's the kicker..... we will still have a 23 year old England international worth x amount as a sell on, and who likely will go on to play a couple of hundred games as a minimum for the club, and even in 7 or 8 years will STILL have a sell on fee and an average cost per game far far far lower than most players who we have EVER signed since we were taken over.

See the media spin of all this is fucking ridiculous, and stupid cunts like you are falling for it hook line and sinker and perpetuating these stupid fucking myths that we are ruining the game and distorting the market, when in fact, it's signings like van Persie that are far less sustainable and represent massive losses to the clubs involved

The price is high and it certainly is a gamble, but a gamble I think we are right to take.

I just hope Sterling (and us fans) are patient. I don't expect the lad to reach his peak for another few years.

I'll tell you something IWT2012, with literary talent like that, you could even aspire to be the Poet Laureate of the public toilets in the centre of our town.

As for Doomie in a nun's outfit, it's a good call but I sort of picture him in the black Gestapo uniform instead.

The general opinion from dipper fans is that Sterling was shit last season. He has not been nearly as good without Suarez. Funny thing is, these people voted Sterling as young player of the year last season.

The beeb have done a piece comparing sterling Rooney Ronaldo and Messi at the age of 20. This goes on to list all of their honors to date. Rooney is 29 Ronaldo 30 and Messi 28.

Not really sure how they managed to compare them lol. Also when did Rooney become comparable to Ronaldo and Messi.

From the MuEN:

Raheem Sterling will have to fire Manchester City to an unprecedented haul of silverware if they are to pay his full £49m fee.

The 20-year-old became the expensive English footballer of all-time after completing his move from Liverpool on Tuesday.

He will cost an initial £44m with a further £5m in add-ons, depending on his success at the Etihad.

And MEN Sport can reveal exactly what Sterling must achieve if City are to pay the full amount for the man Manuel Pellegrini describes as one of the best attacking players in the world.

A complex series of add-ons will be based appearances as well as trophies.

City will pay a maximum of £3m based on their success in the Europe and the Premier League.

Liverpool will be entitled to £1.5m for each Champions League trophy Sterling helps deliver to the Etihad.

City will also have to pay out £1m for every Premier League title they win with the forward.

That means a Premier League and Champions League double next season will cost City £2.5m.

Another one of those trophies the following year would take them up to the maximum figure of £3m.

But there will be few among the Etihad’s hierarchy complaining if Sterling proves the catalyst to such success.

Should he lead them to triumph in Europe alone it would justify the massive sum it took to prise him away from Anfield.

The remaining £2m of add-ons will be base on the number of starts he makes for City in the both the Premier League and Champions League.

City will pay £500,000 after Sterling starts 30, 60, 90 and 120 games in those competitions respectively.

The former Liverpool striker believes he can win trophies at the Etihad
He is due to fly out to Australia to join up with the rest of Pellegrini’s squad for their pre-season tour.

“It’s a good feeling and this is really happy time for me and my family,” he said. “I’m just glad it’s all over and done with and I can’t wait to get on the training field.

“The thing that excites me the most is the world class squad we have and knowing we have a team that is capable of winning things year in, year out.

“The more quality players that are around you, the more quality it brings out in you so I can’t wait to get started and play alongside them.”

Sterling added that he discussed City with Joe Hart before making the move.

“I spoke to Joe briefly on the last England trip," he said. "He just told me what a really good football club this is and how nice the fans are – nothing too serious, but it was a bit of a heads up.”

Next thing is the media will start putting his fee in silly currencies, just to get loads of noughts on the end. 1,617,000,000,000 Vietnamese dong's or 749,700,000,000 Indonesian rupiah.
