so "1st leg will revert to 19th Jan now." is nailed on? stop thinking you are the FA, when in fact you actually know FA ;-)

Wait and see then brain of Britain. With the spare time you have this week due to postponement, seek out a common sense pill for the defecit you have.

whats with the attitude? use the snow to chill out dude.
I was merely saying that what you are saying is YOUR opinion and not an official statement.
I'm not trying to get involved in a guessing game on who is right or wrong on whether it will be called off, I have better things to do.

Check out Roslers Rocket's post - and for the record I wasn't playing a guessing game either as you insinuate, having spoken to a GMP officer in the last hour who is a family friend.

Airport has now re-opened.

I guess that means like me , all the United fans can now arrive as well :-))

Report just now on GMR radio says game is still on at 12.30 pm gmt.

I hope the snow can now ease off and it can warm up a bit this afternoon !

We really want this game tomorrow and not later.....

See attached from Daily Telegraph webpage - problems with turnstiles. Can't see this going ahead - as long as they don't re-schedule for next Wednesday as I am not here!!

Senior City officials are in talks with Greater Manchester Police, the Manchester Safety Advisory Committee and the Football League due to the adverse weather affecting the City of Manchester Stadium and surrounding area.

With over six inches of snow falling on central Manchester overnight and this morning, City have already been forced to close the ticket office and club megastore due to the inability of staff to make their way in to work.

And with ice lying beneath the snow, the car parks at Eastlands are currently unsafe for use. Walkways towards the stadium are also treacherous.

A further complication ahead of the United game, which is a 48,000 sell-out, is that the computerised turnstiles at Eastlands have frozen and the club have so far been unable to resolve the problem.

Although the playing surface at the stadium is free of snow and perfectly playable, safety issues outside the ground are the area causing most concern to the club and authorities.

With United due to be supported by almost 5,500 travelling fans, the fixture is already a potentially volatile encounter.

But with the hazardous conditions and the problems City face in terms of ensuring that stewards and catering staff can actually make their way to the stadium tomorrow, the game is understood to be in the balance.

With local weather forecasts suggesting that temperatures could fall to as low as minus 5 degrees tomorrow, the risk of the conditions deteriorating is another factor being considered by the club and authorities.

on the os

http://www.mcfc.co.uk/News/Club-news/20 ... e-in-doubt

Due to the extreme weather conditions Wednesday night’s fixture against Manchester United is at risk of postponement.
The club has this morning been consulting with Greater Manchester Police, the City Council’s Safety Advisory Group, Manchester United and the Football League with regards to the viability of the game taking place.

Fans travelling a long distance for the Carling Cup semi final are advised not to begin their journey until further notice.

We will inform everyone of a definitive decision as soon as possible.

Just can't see it being on IMO, even if it don't snow again the snow on the ground will more than likely ice making it dangerous. It was really icey at the Stoke game and i can only see it being worse after today. Took us 25 mins to walk from asda to the Townley before the Stoke game and that was sober. Hope I'm wrong!!
