Do you know what's the earliest we could have Ade and Toure back?

Pretty sure the final is at the end of the month, so either one could be back for the 2nd leg.

oh fucl me...i just bought a ticket to see Chelsea-Brum at the Bridge on the 27th cos i thought it was going to be my only opportunity to see ANY footy let alone City when i'm back over. Now i've got some fuclin scheming to try and do.

when will tickets go on sale for the 27th? is it confirmed yet? is the 27th now the away fixture or have they swapped us out home and away (hope not)?

cheers

Edit: also. it's 30 degrees F here in FL in case it makes any of you feel better. with my thinned Florida blood it feels like 30 below...and my heater's broken.

Why have you not called MCFC a load of names as they would have been part of this decision also?? Oh i forgot your the biggest and the bestest fan on here.......sorry!!!

The difference between those countries and ours is that they regularly suffer from this type of snowfall and have the infrastructure to deal with it - this is is a 1 in +10 year occurence so we aren't likely to have dozens of snow ploughs etc in storage. Because if we did you bet there would be people moaning about how councils were wasting the tax payers money.

I can't believe people are being critical of calling a football match off (which is a game ffs) when it would be potentially putting people's lives at risk if it was to go ahead.

Quite so fellas. Even here, there is a winter break for a reason. Although we all drive around with mandatory winter tyres, the simple fact is, the grass stops growing towards december and doesn't start again until about end of January. Of course some top stadia can keep their grass warm and hope.

Fact is the roots of the grass dont get repaired either during this time and a pitch will very quickly be ruined if you play on it during this time. The ground is also rock hard at the moment and exceptionally difficult to play football on.
Many Cities towns and villages have articficial turf and this is ok during winter for games , but apart from the one stadium on Bern all others are grass and they do need their break. So i can imagine in many other countries in europe they have the same problem.

Remember , what you've experienced today is the worst for 30 years. It happens every other week here and certainly you get very , very cold weather in Norway, Sweden , Germany, poland etc.

When I ran this morning it was on the limit for running at -10°C and i only did 10km today. I wouldn't run if it dips below this limit.

After the Stoke game, just on the road behind the athletics stadium about 50m from the Maine Road pub, saw a little lad have quite a bad fall, he was walking on the road because the pavement was no better, as his dad tried to help him up he went arse over tit too.

Consider the conditions tomorrow will be a lot worse, (it hadnt snowed for 3/4 days by boxing day and had started to warm up/melt). Think what would happen if a car tried to slow down where the lad slipped and just carried on. Even think about a group of people walking down the pavement, to be hit by a car that can't stop.

I dont like it as much as you - as I am sure we have all been looking forward to the game big time, but I am sure the club and GMP are much more worried about the safety of the majority, than getting the game on for you, so stop whining like a bitch :)

again name calling on the internet, your not a hard man doing it so just quit and if i want to be pissed of about this then i will be its that simple and there isnt much anyone can do about it

Whining like a bitch?

Point out the bit where that is calling you a name? I stopped short of calling you a name, and simply described what you are doing, which as Rafa would say, is a FACT. But seeing as you are clearly incapable of knowing the difference I might as well just.... oh fuck it.......not really worth it is it.

Hows about you actually respond to the post (which was actually sympathetic to your view) rather than the last 4 words?

well i was at the stoke game, i didnt fall. none of the lads i was with fell and i didnt see anyone fall atall so saying we cant play because something might happen to someone is stupid and nanny-ish , the pitch was playable and thats my problem with it we would just have to be careful, there'll probably cancel blackburn aswell, maybe something might happen to someone there aswell, infact why didnt they just ban football all together after the first player got injured or the first fan fell over like a 100 years ago god forbid the road might be slippy and someone might fall over. How can you not see how soft everyone is being, when it snows kids say "yeah lets go play out" and then grown men start crying saying theres no way they could possably walk up the road in it but fuck it we'll play on 19th instead and theres nothing can be done about it

There's actually no reasoning with you is there?

Have you considered people who can't just 'walk up the road' to the ground?

it takes me like an hour n a half to get to the ground, i dont live down the road. I go to town then walk from there. But the fact is if they said were playing then most of the people with tickets would have turned up, they wouldnt of been happy about it but they wouldnt of missed a game like this and it could of just gone ahead and i wouldnt have to wait so long agin is all. I know alot of people would prefer to wait and go up in better conditions im just not a patient person so it's pissed me off is all.

So you'll confess that the main reason that you whining like a child is because YOU are going to wait?

I don't think 'most people with tickets' would have made it seeing as most public transport has been suspended and walking and driving conditions are terrible.

Fuck it then, ring the old bill and I am sure they will change their mind because you told them that you represent the other 47,000 who were at the Stoke game, and because you didnt see it, there wasnt a problem.

Seriously though, we both know its fuck all to do with people slipping, its the fear of being sued after they have slipped which is the cause of the postponement, and that does make my blood boil.

Never mind slipping - the main problem is people not being able to get to the ground to slip in the first place!

If the game would have been on I would have not risked driving if the weather would have been like it has been today. I live in an area where I can not get out when the snow is heavy and have been to work for all of one day in the last three weeks due to either snow or ice on the road where I live.

This is not me not loving City enough its me being sensible and putting my partners and my safety first. I think you will find that I am not the only one on here who would have made that decision.
