Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

What that quote does is discourage any potential player we're linked with from joining us in the future.

That is total bollocks. If a player thinks they are good enough then they will come. If they don't, then we don't want them to come.

Nothing wrong with what he said, he was justifying his decision. He will change his tune in a couple of years of scouse1 go nowhere. However, he is guaranteed to play and in his favoured role.

Didn't he just play a game on the right wing?

Not really anything wrong with what he said though is there? He's right, he would be watching from the bench. I'm sure he's thankful for what he's won with us, but milner is obviously somebody wanting to play regular fitba at what should be his peak time. Let him be.

Fuck Milner ! He has seen us robbed at Dippers 1 plenty of times, yet he still had us thinking for 12 months he is loyal Jimmy. Sorry no clapping from me when he returns.

This has become a witch hunt. He was a solid player for us and realized the team was moving beyond him. Can you blame him for wanting to play more often? He's played every minute with the dipper so far and if we were with city he would lucky to see 90 at this point.

No he was in the centre. Firminho was on the right.

I don't agree with him being guaranteed his place though. Henderson is captain and Can is a better centre mid.

Interviewer: 'have you been watching City this season?'
Milner: 'yes, they've been playing well.'

That's honest. He doesn't need to add the bit about sitting on the bench. It's sly.

That's a fair point Mase, but I still think he is just justifying to himself and the media why he moved on.
The truth is he wouldn't break into the team much this year, if he stayed.

Not really a witch hunt as there's one poster on his case.
"I used to be 6 foot 2 with curly hair, look what it's done to me"

"In my career so far it's the most important goal. You score the goal in the last minute to win the title. You're not sure if that's ever going to happen in your career again. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

He was on the right against Bournemouth I think

I didn't think there was any need for that 'Liverpool are a bigger club' nonsense.

Getting offended by the potential subtext in a footballer's words is a bit girly, isn't it?

Especially if the footballer in question is as inoffensive a person as James Milner.

Sort of. He started in the same position he started against Arsenal. They have one player sitting deep in midfield and then the other two playing left/right of centre. He was right of centre but because Coutinho kept drifting in from the right hand side Milner ended up attacking that space.

The Dippers have a great feature on their official site which provides Opta stats for each game, including players average position in each game. Wish City would do something similar. It would solve a lot of formation arguments.

Second half he ended up covering the right FB position a lot from what I could see, as Liverpool fell further and further back.

This thread will be dug up again when a pundit mentions anything snide about players coming to City to sit on the bench because I can guarantee half of you fickle fucks will be all over them!

You're not quoting the question he was asked, which was about regret at leaving City. If the interviewer had only asked him what you have just quoted then you would have a point. Are you hormonal or something?

Milner was a chicken with no head , more often than not , like Dareen huckerby was..head down, run ,run, run , turn, and cross the ball anywhere but rarely where its supposed to go.

He is a sly cunt and has had sly digs at City ..........cheeky fuckign cunt got more playign time than he should have got.
As for him wanting his prefered position , we tried him there and he was fuckign shit.

He can get to fuck.
THEY SAY SWEARING IS DUE TO A LIMITED VOCABULARY. I KNOW THOUSANDS OF WORDS, BUT I STILL PREFER "FUCK OFF" TO "GO AWAY"

The press has a sneaky way of asking questions in such a way as to get the kind of answers they are looking for.

Open-ended most of the time, to get the interviewee to mouth themselves off.

The less anything concrete said, the better; that is why Pellers has mastered the art of frustrating the shite out of them.

Definitely a case of the headlines being more irritating than what he actually said. I still think he led us down the garden path mind.
