Even if I accepted there was contact (that's a big if for me, he dived) there's no way he gets that peno as hed taken a big fuck off dive not 10 mins earlier. Annoys me no end.

Was the other one where the Villa defender pushed him from behind and the commentator even mentioned that he was lucky not to give a pen?

The problem with Sterling is that he does go down easily but I've not seen him do it without contact. He's not the biggest of lads and at the speed he goes then its understandable how the slightest touch makes him go over.

As for the contact for that you cannot accept, open your eyes you blind cunt, it showed it about ten times. It's not as if he's flailing a leg to try and get contact and like many Blues, I'd call him out if I think he was doing that.

If you think a player running in front of him is physically capable of him falling plank face forward, Id suggest it was you that was the blind cunt.

The 2nd one was the tiniest of scrapes and he again flung himself. He has hit the deck more this season than any other player I've seen for us.

Anyone who is suggesting now it's ok to drop as long as you've been touched at all is now advocating cheating in my book.

Makes you no better than the ones I've always been against.

There's a huge difference between being touched and being fouled, on the Clark incident he was fouled, penalty all day long.

For fuck sake, is this still going on?

One more time:
Contact and fall = penalty
No contact and fall = cheating.

The end.

Sterling didn't cheat, he was cheated.

I always had u pegged as an old school footy fan to be honest. It's dissapointing to read this stuff. There is contact all game every game. Choosing to drop over it is cheating. It's such a shame too cos sterling has really won me over with his play.

Mate I hate cheating. I hate it when a footballer cheats to win a penalty. Leaving a trailing leg to make it look like there was contact etc.

I have no problem with players playing within the rules though.

If you feel someone kicking you rather than the ball inside the box, you are obliged to make sure the ref knows.

It happens everywhere else on the pitch, throughout the whole game. In every single game.

If players only fell because they actually couldn't stay on their feet, you wouldn't have half the free kicks that are given.

If you hate this, you hate football mate.

Someone's touchy. And why insinuate that I'm a hypocrite when I clearly seen it different from you. I seen it as he had been impeded on both occasions and I gave reasons why. You gfave yours yet my opinion is not valid.

What's the issue, you just pissed that he didn't go straight for goal and basically fucked the chance up?

As mentioned, I wouldn't defend a cheat but having played against lads 2 thirds of my weight, or even me at full paste, I know how easy it is to go down. One touch at pace or a shoulder barge could have anybody down.

What we seen today is what we see everyday in the PL. Not all of them are dives and noit all of them are fouls, it's just how it's always been, an incident to discuss.

You didn't get on my nerves mate, I agree 100% with you. I'm sick to death of him diving at every opportunity. Hopefully, whoever had a word with Navas will do the same with Sterling.

Fair play Beefy, that sums me up.
You can argue all day about any penalty. In my book that wasn't one but in the modern game no contact is allowed apparently.

What gets me most is we pay 49 million for a footballer who hasn't got a left foot that he trusts.
Not getting at Sterling either. I like the kid but, how many times do we see him clean through only to turn back into trouble because he won't use his left.

I think a minimum standard for City players in the future should be that they are comfortable with both feet.

Sergio has done that a few times this year as well. Amazing considering raheem scored with his left a few days back. Truly baffling.

Thought it was his right against Seville.
Sergio tends to do that a lot when coming back from injury, though. He bangs them in with both once his confidence is up.

You can't really call me a cunt for disagreeing AND imply im the touchy one mate one or the other :)

I'm not gonna keep banging on about it now, I think you all know my opinion. I've got loads of reasons for hating it, most of which I've stated.

I would love it if someone made a poll however with the simple question has Raheem dived this season? Id be very interested to see the board split. I ask this season and not this one incident simply because we've all seen what the rep does to your chances of getting the real ones.

I thought it was a penalty. Looked like a trip to me. But two Blues in the pub with me thought it was a dive.
Yes Raheem has dived this season.

For anyone who still blindly thinks that Raheem Sterling "dived" in this match, here is your photo proof that Ciaran Clark purposely smashed Sterling in the left knee, while also grabbing his arm, to stop Sterling's full speed run... I dare any of you to stay on YOUR feet, if someone did the same to you!!

Sterling should not have cut back but carry on to try and finish with his left foot.

There is no contact in those photo's mate.

I thought he dived when it happend, saw a replay later that showed contact on his right foot. Not enough to go down scraming like a little pussy but contact was clearly made. I believe he would have had more chance of the foul being given if he had tried to stay on his feet and possibly fallen over naturally than acting like he had been shot in the back by a sniper.

Sterling never "screamed like a pussy!"... He also never acted like he was "shot in the back by a sniper!"... He simply questioned ref Craig Pawson. Your description of Sterling sounds like it comes from a Dipper!

You can't clearly see Ciaran Clark's left knee purposely knocking into Raheem Sterling's left knee?... You can't see Clark's outstretched left arm grabbing Raheem??!... Clark's arm remains in the air, even after he had taken Sterling down.

I checked 4 different match commentaries & they all said that it should have been a penalty... They also said that Otamendi should not have received a yellow card, when the Villa player jumped over his leg & then, took a dive to get a penalty!

Regardless if it should have been a penalty or not, I think Raheem would've stood a bigger chance of getting it had he not gone down the first time.

Mario used to pull this shit all the time as well. It doesn't matter if you know you have the rules on your side, you have to get the ref on your side as well.
"I used to be 6 foot 2 with curly hair, look what it's done to me"

"In my career so far it's the most important goal. You score the goal in the last minute to win the title. You're not sure if that's ever going to happen in your career again. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

Clark's left foot on Sterling's right foot.

Foul? Yes. Exaggerated fall? Yes. Penalty? Definitely.

He has got a habit of going down easily but fuck me if you can't see that was a pen you need your eyes testing.

Wonder why Pawson didn't book him?

This photo is after the foul, Raheem is already falling (and screaming like a pussy) here and clark is not grabbing him in this picture. The foul was as in the clip Foreverinbluedreams posted. Like I said contact on the right foot? yes. Foul? yes. Penalty? yes. Not given because of overacting and screaming like a pussy being shot by a sniper? probably.

Otamendi should not have been booked as it wasn't a foul, even if it had been a foul it was outside the box though so I doubt the guy was going for a penalty.

Many thanks for the footage & your corroboration.

Ciaran Clark purposely knocked his left knee into Raheem's left knee & then, left his leg there, to block Raheem's right foot... With Alan Hutton following close by, there was no room for Sterling to avoid them both & stay on his feet.
