Football Media

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

It's always interesting to see on this on most other football forums that the loudest, most self opinionated, bully boys are those that 'support' the club via a comfy armchair and an expensive SKY Sports subscription and never actually go to the Etihad (and God forbid any away games at all).

Opinions of anyone on any football forum will differ wildly and be polar opposite on a lot of occasions. That is the nature of the beast. Otherwise you end up with a Bluemoon type of forum where you have to be constantly 'on message' otherwise you risk being banned for no real reason, where threads are constantly pulled and posts re- written and it is a bland homogenised, pasteurised totally beige output

So just put the TV remote control down for a moment and have a think about that.
Now... Where did I put my ticket for today's game at Stoke FFS?

What's the issue with people who can't get to a game? You've used this a few times, as if you're an uber-Blue just by virtue of being able to make a game. Alternatively, you're using it to inflame the situation.

This is a very open forum where we can talk most things and get away with it, there's not many around like this, but, as was mentioned, there's always certain etiquettes we follow, and that's engrained into all Blues. It's just one of those things, like a look or a wink - knowing.

Anyway, back on topic. Any of the media jokers dissed us lately?

One rag cunt never shuts up about "going to the game" which he wears like a badge... handy when you live nearby...

Meanwhile the tiresome Dortmund fan won't shut up about me.

I'll enjoy the game. I love this club more than most things in my life and certainly more than any other club.

Something neither of you fake cunts can say.

Every chance I get I come home and get to the games. I'd wager my getting over for a game which I will this year costs about as much as at least 5 years worth of tickets for you so if this is referencing me you can fuck right off

Anyway, back to the media.... While there are some individual reporters who subscribe to the high ideals of journalism being based on the facts and a reasonable and declared interpretation of them, most are just employees of the newspaper or whatever, and they have always been about generating revenue (sales, advertising, clicks etc.) by reinforcing the prejudices of their core subscribers rather than challenging or forming them.

I already did, you don't want to listen, or more accurately you want to piss off blues.

I tried, but when a blue genuinely tries to talk to you and that's in your response it's obvious you just aren't one of us. You enjoy the wind up as much as I enjoy talking about my football club. Different strokes I guess.

Choosing only to respond to the insults to fuel some sort of victim complex or make yourself seem more important is a little sad.

This is in stark contrast to your claims that its others choosing to have these arguments with you.

Danny Murphy's reaction in MOTD after our injuries were mentioned - I have no sympathy for City. Their front 4 cost £160m against Stoke. I'm not sure it did cost £160m but on the face of it you may think he has a point. What really bothers me about this though was Murphy constantly saying Bodgers was very unlucky to have Sturridge injured last season. Didn't Bodgers spend £300m in 3 years and win sweet FA? It's strange how his sympathy trigger is set at different points for different clubs. I didn't catch anything else because I tend to nod off when he starts talking

I don't believe there is an 'anti Man City' bias in the media now a days. There definately was straight after the takeover and
Gary Cook was the missile they used to bomb us with. However, since we have had success, built the CFA etc things have very
much mellowed. They will always use the money thing to beat us up with but that is what the media do.

Whilst there is no anti City bias there is very much a pro bias towards teams like Liverpool and the rags. The media look to report
all things good and positive about them and do on any occassion they can. But that does not mean they are anti City.
I can understand fans who think there still is but overall it is the pro bias towards other clubs that gets mentioned and reported
more than any positive things we do.
