Alcantara is an interesting call. Was it Guardiola who took him to Bayern? If Pep is rocking up at The Etihad in the summer they could come hand in hand. Bayern would want there piece of flesh though wouldn't they?

I think it was Pep who took him to Bayern mate and we would have to pay the money whatever the target is and costs. Sure as eggs is eggs, we definitely need that energy and vigour to be put in place for next season as we don't currently possess it.

Totally agree. Whoever is in charge next season the squad needs to have a younger fresher approach.

Pogba is going to Barcelona, no worries about that. The cunts will get him.

Maybe we can go after something different, maybe Isco. The problem regarding Yaya is quite simple, there is no one like him in football. He is quite unique and when he is a good mood, you cannot stop the fucker.

Someone that can fit his profile is Hamsik, but he lost a bit of his glow.

Anybody else see Ilkay Gundogan being linked with a move to us yesterday?

Yes, no point trying to replace Yaya like for like as there is no one; look for someone who offers some of Yaya's threat and evolve the squad to cope with a different approach.

I've seen him maybe dozen times and he has Always failed to impress me. To me he seems like Jovetic type of 'luxury player' who can do some neat stuff (I've seen those on youtube but never when I watch him...Samaras and youtube spring to mind..) but can't really take games by the scruff of the neck and I don't think we need any more of those.

There's already a hospital of sorts on the campus, the Manchester Institute of Health and Performance, not sure if it's opened yet?

This would explain Vinny and Kun.

We don't need a replacement Yaya but just a tweak to the playing style which doesn't involve needing a Yaya.

And as much as I love, or loved, Yaya, I'm looking forward to that tweak and us finally moving on. And hopefully kicking on with a new improved style under Pep, probably.
That's my 2016 wish.
Just hope we take the league while we're waiting.

I agree with you gentlemen. It's not like for like replacement we should be looking at, we need to focus on who fits our new style.

I don't watch a lot of football that doesn't involve us, but Barkley has looked good whenever I've seen him this season

Fernandino could easily do the ball carrying, passing and shooting that Ya Ya now cant do, if he wasn't holding the fort behind ya ya. We need a simpler more direct and quicker style of play now, as Doug alludes to. Fernandino is ideally suited to that. Herrera, of whom there is talk, is a very similar player to Fernandino but not as good imo. Ofcourse, Fern is getting on, so that maybe is the issue. There is no doubt in my mind he's a wasted talent mopping up for Ya Ya. Is Delph good enough. I love his attitude but does he offer more than energy and running? Not clear yet. Obviously Pogba is a Rolls Royce but I suspect he would choose Barca, who in their right mind wouldn't? For me, Fernando is the issue since all sides need a destroyer and unfortunately on recent evidence he needs replacing. Kante would be great at around £12 mill.

Yaya is not as bad as some think. Yesterday was another moment of brilliance from the big man. I'm not sure how I feel about replacing him just yet. One minute I want him gone the next I think he's the key to controlling our game.

Yaya can be a crucial figure for another two years. but used in a different way and with a different type of support, similar as happened with c**t Keane and Stevie Starfish at the end of their club careers.

Its not about him being poor or him being replaced straight away but we need to start looking at the future as we can no longer be dragged thorugh a season on Vinnie, Yaya and Agueros backs as 2 have serious injury issues and Yaya just cannot do what he used to as often and its why no matter who we sign we look weaker every year as we rely too heavy on those 3.

For me, Yaya has become a luxury player. He used to be a central figure. However, he is no longer that. Against arsenal and Norwich he has shown 20 minutes of what Yaya is capable of in 180 minutes. We are a team challenging on 4 fronts, there is no room for passengers or sentiment. I don't want to play Norwich next week and be sat there with my fingers crossed that I see a Yaya special or we lose.

We need top players at our level. Yaya was one, but is now not at the level we need to start games. I want him to stay, but as an impact player

If he can be arsed.
