****Man City v Everton **** Official Match Thread

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

That was evertons training match for the second leg in the cup. Everton were so negative in the second half, content to sit off the ball and defend with ten men behind the Ball. Stonewall penalty on sterling at the end!

From The Guardian's minute by minute:

16:34
90 min + 3: Final seconds here, but surely that was a penalty? It looked a clear trip!

16:34
90 min +2: That must be a penalty! Stones on Sterling! Roger East says no! Unbelievable!

I'm losing heart in this league I really am.

It is rotten to the core.

At this point I would rather have a manager who viciously attacks the referee in the press conference and the club actually taking some action. There is no point being nice anymore.

I hope city grow some balls. Taking this shit time after time is depressing. And I dunno how much longer I can watch it. Blood boiling.

Unbelievable. Stunningly shit. I'd be fuming if that wasn't called in a sunday league and the ref was on the other side of the pitch.

Commentators on my feed were clear it was a penalty, their shock was Sterling not even blinking after it happened. Not even a look back at the ref. Terrible call, but show some heart Sterling.

Shut the fuck up. Played them off the park. Ref was a cunt over and over and over.

If you class trying the same thing over and over to no avail as 'playing them off the park' then good for you. I don't.

We were robbed at the end but the performance overall was one dimensional and our manager sat back, watched it all unfold and did nothing.

Most negative performance by an away team all season
Ref bottled it but would be good if some of our overly nice players appeal

Edited so actually makes sense!

That's pretty kind of you. I hope he wakes up looking like a mix between Tevez and Lescott. I hope his tiny dick falls off. I hope he gets done for tax evasion and gets destroyed every day while he's inside by Denzil.

Corrupt cunts strike again, How many times have we had these big game changing decisions go against us,

Thought we were poor but should also of had pen when Kun pulled back in box , gets a shot away but how many times have we seen play pulled back this season against us when advantage doesnt lead to anything?

Why the fuck not give Kelechi minutes after his game at the weekend?

Bob would have torn strips off that ref. Close to knocking him out I'd imagine.

Don't buy into that argument. You shouldn't have to do anything more than go down. Also, Sterling is clearly holding back on his antics since the refs stopped giving him any calls so he's damned if he does, damned if he doesn't.
"I used to be 6 foot 2 with curly hair, look what it's done to me"

"In my career so far it's the most important goal. You score the goal in the last minute to win the title. You're not sure if that's ever going to happen in your career again. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

He calls for it and he's labelled a cheat.

He can't win. He shouldn't have to make a meal for the rules to be adhered to.

Same way Aguero didn't when he was being dragged back in the box minuted before hand.

It's so disheartening.

They just do not want us to win this league. I don't know why, I don't know who stands to make money off it or what exactly is going on, but I know what I see and it's possibly even worse than the halfway Mark of our first prem title winning season.

Then everyone harps on about how we "barely" won it. Fucking some achievement when you think of what we had to overcome.

I agree LB2. We weren't nearly as bad as some are making out. They doubled up on the wings and we should have been working harder inside as well as outside Sterling and Navas, but we didn't play badly.
We didn't take our chances and we had a few, to wrap it up. One goal and they would have had to commit men forward which would have opened up space.
Everton worked hard but they got lucky and were more than helped by the ref, not just with the penalty decisions. Barry and Besic should have been booked very early on.
We kept another clean sheet and apart from Osman's shot in the first half and a couple of half chances from tight angles, we werent really troubled.

Everton are decent and we made them look shit. Not an easy feat.

And yes pellers is a twat for waiting for 25 minutes of non stop pressure and countless cock ups by brown before getting silva on.

Pretty much. I'm genuinely close to giving up my season ticket now. I just can't be bothered with the corrupted officials. Really can't be bothered anymore.
