Armchair fans! Ruining football.

I'd certainly watch it on TV.

Surely this is to be expected?

Its the glamour tie of the round.
The T.V. companies paid big money for the broadcasting rights.
It is logical that they are going to arrange it for peak viewing figures - Sunday at 16.00.

Is it fair - no its not but money talks.

Play the kids (write of the FA cup) and concentrate on the CL.
That will hurt us but also hurt the T.V. companies - what arm chair followers want to watch kids play - very few I'd guess.

So every other top league in Europe help their teams with the CL by moving games to give said teams more recovery time for said CL games right? The English league just does the opposite no wonder our co-efficients are dropping thanks FA/PL. Thanks a fuckin bunch.

Nothing like a good moan eh ?

Not for me , always play your best team and take players off as needed to rest them.

A bit sick of the whinging, this is what success is all about . Going for all trophies !

Exactly.
I'd like us to win it but not at the expense of going out of th CL early.
Play the kids.

It's official now Sunday at 4. I really hope the Club sticks to its guns and plays the kids.

Absolutely play the kids. Screw the FA cup (under these circumstances).

Beating Kiev has to be the priority around that time. Its a great chance to progress in the comp.

Losing in the FA means not having the shuffle league matches, which is better.

And the kids get to play a quality opponent.

We complain when it's not on, then complain when it is. As per the 'Which Competition' thread, I'd give this one up, its a low priority in the big scheme of things.

I love the FA Cup but we're looking to be a super force. Pellers knows this and that's why he's played a lesser team prior to CL games this season.

I'd fly the team out to Kiev on the Sunday. Play the kids and let Kiddo run the show.

Personally, I'd rather progress in the FA Cup than CL, but I understand that's not for the best for the club. I'd therefore agree with others that I'd send a full kids team, minus those in the squad for Kiev and the rest, incl Pellegrini shouldn't even travel.

Leave the BBC interviewing a youth team coach with about 8 people watching on TV. Maybe put a City training session live on the website at the same time as the game.

I'd rather progress in the FA Cup, too. Then when we get knocked out of the CL and England's number of CL places are reduced. Which will make the BBC and FA will realise the errors of their ways when it's even harder for the Rags and Liverpool to have a chance at European football in the future.

Could we not have had a Friday fixture, like the Rags did against some unknown?

By doing this they've royally screwed us over. If we play a full strength side we'll be fucked for the CL. If we play a weakened side we'll be lambasted from pillar to post.

And then they get their flagship game the next day, watching the Rags walking it against a team currently languishing near the foot of the 3rd division of the English leagues.

Win-win for them, it'll be Raggy heaven.

That would mean Chelsea playing closer to thier chumps league fixture, they have to travel a long way so the FA decided that we are better equipped...

It's scandalous that a broadcaster can be allowed to decide who wins a tie in the way they just have done.

Are we allowed to just withdraw? I'd wait until the day and say 'sorry guys, we've had to call it off as everyone's come down with a bug. Kick us out if you want!'

Wise words.
Protect players we need for Kiev and see how we get on. Could be a blessing in disguise if other players step up and do well

Imagine what a kick in the teeth for Chelski if we play the kids, they progress, but they still get knocked out before the finals. Quite possible. And it will result in us having less fixture congestion for the run-in as well.

I'm happy with the League, League Cup and an unprecedented progression in the CL at this stage. Next season we'll fuck 'em all up!

All our defenders are playing badly so it's not a question of blaming one player or the other. Pellegrini is incapable of organising them properly. Otamendi was a very good player in La Liga. Mangala was one of the most promising defenders in Europe. Utter dogshite under Pellegrini. He won't face the fact that Yaya is past his sell by date and offers zero protection to the defence. Fernandinho has played well but he's not a defensive midfielder. Don't get me onto the full backs; Kolarov can't defend Zaba is past his peak as is Clichy. Sagna the best of the bunch left on the bench today.

Pellegrini is not remotely getting the best out of what he's got and the idea of giving him another season is ludicrous. The Club are to be congratulated for seeing that and getting the best manager in the world to replace him. If we win anything this season it will be a huge surprise and we won't make fourth if we're not careful.
