Schollinho wrote:Hi All,
I do follow PL football, but I'm not a ManCity fan but FC Bayern supporter from Germany. I got to this forum because I was curious to see how ManCity fans react to the announcement of Guardiola becoming the new manager. I see Pep in PL as a very interesting experiment, it's gonna be a real culture clash. Not everybody here in Munich is sad to see him leave at the end of the season, he's kind of a very controversial figure over here. So you guys are up for a lot of surprises, that much is sure.
I must admit I was surprised to hear he'd join City. The rumours have been around for quite a while already, but my first guess was he'd join United instead. In terms of his idea of football, he kind of is a van Gaal 2.0, so taking his team over would have been a logical choice. As was joining FC Bayern, here in Munich he took over a team which was already used to a similar kind of playing and most importantely had the right players for it already. As for all I've seen of ManCity so far, I have a hard time imagening that a lot the current players will still be on the team when Guardiola is manager. Aguero, de Bruyne, Silva, also Sterling probably, but that's about it already. In particular for the entire defense department, I do not see one guy in there which would fit Pep's idea of the game. And when it comes to his idea, he's the same as stubborn as vGaal, so that's not gonna change.
Anyway, so what brought me here is just curiousity!
