Interesting point in that article (well, if you can call it that), about City being in the bottom 3 for distance covered.

Whilst I'm sure part of that is related to City passing and letting the ball do the work, I just wonder if it is also relevant to the fact that few of our players work hard to get into space, and even less of them work hard to win the ball back. I don't see either being an option under Pep

I don't disagree with some of the shortcomings they point out, just the totally lack of balance and impartiality.

In the Daily Fail our cup winning match report dropped to the 17th story in the list within 8 hours of the final whistle. It's probably the 3rd biggest game of the season behind the champs league final and FA cup final. Top story is about LVG meme's.

If the victims had won it would be the top story for days with 4 spin off articles.

Also Want to point out Sturridge crying was fucking pathetic bullshit and an attempt to make people think he cares. I saw no water in those eyes, just a soulless demon.

The main point is that Sturridge will never be a top player if he doesn't have the bottle to take a penalty, probably being their best penalty taker. Compare with Aguero and Toure, who always step up.

I probably should just enjoy the fact we won another trophy, but I have to say the enjoyment yesterday was really tarnished for me by the general biased build up in the media and the deflation afterwards.
I think it is starting to wear on me, to the point where I avoided the build up all together, because I'm sick of it.
There is no impartiality. It's a serious issue when you can't get fairness on the broadcasting channels, from your own FA or from the referee on the pitch.
It took away from the whole experience for me. I know a lot of people don't like Niall Quinn any more, but in fairness if he wasn't there in the Sky panel to talk up the club, the aftermath would have been like a morgue, which it pretty much was anyway.
We'd just won the cup and they just kept going back to , 'What does this mean for Liverpool now?'
The penalty was just dismissed as ... yes it was a definite penalty ... let's move on.
There's no great fanfare, it's just a case of move along quickly. Even in winning we just seem to get ignored and they still talk about their darlings.

We all know this is the case, but it's probably the first time I really felt 'what's the point any more?'
It will take something special for it to ever change, but I think it'll take some level of integrity in the way games are officiated also.
Someone mentioned that they will have to take a leaf out of rugby's book. I agree with this. Until the game is seen to be clean at all levels,
I can't see this malaise stopping.
It grinds you down, but fuck it. We won despite all. We are showing a bit of bottle again. Who knows how the season may end.

Hang on in there - it will take time to change but change it will.
We are on the way to being a super power (hope we don't lose our soul).

Media pundits grew up supporting Liverpool, MU and Ars during their glory years.
We keep winning and the balance will swing our way over time.
A sort of like the academy will produce players - it has started and will grow - takes time.

Recently, I listened to a post match analysis of our game again'st Spurs on the radio.
The commentator focused on Spurs, how they could win the PL, how good they where, how they fight now, etc...
Not 1 word about the penalty decision. Seriously, not 1 word.
Then they linked up with some journalist re reviewing the weekend's action.
He specifically mentioned Spurs first goal being illegal due to said penalty decision.
This was just ignored and the conversation was quickly re-directed to how awesome Spurs now are.
I agree it is very tiring but I look on it as a compliment and we are not going away - we are coming after them.

Re Quinn: I gave up on him when he did that deal with Keane at Sunderland.

One question mate do you think Oliver would have said no penalty if Sturridge had been fouled like Sergio. I know what I think would have been the outcome.

That's the thing Michael. It's a constant uphill battle. I think if it was a level playing field we would already be in the superpower bracket.
Having said that I do agree with a lot of what you say Dimples and have professed similar in the past.
I just felt yesterday, what a few others have spoken about before, after some dodgey decisions have cost us. Only this was before a ball was even kicked, with us about to contest a final.
It just spoilt my enjoyment of a game I loved playing and love watching.

I'll get over it. And I do think I will live to see the day we win the CLand dominate for this and the next decade.
But the game needs major changes and I would love us to lead the charge in restoring integrity to it. We will have to win the hard way first though. It must get to the players too.

According to the MEN sterling was grabbed by a Liverpool fan who screamed 'you fucking judas' in his face. Khaldoon was also told to 'fuck off back to Abu Dhabi'

Dippers taking defeat well with grace as per. Why is this not in the national press. You can bet had one of our lot done that to Milner it'd would be all over the place.

Par for the course with that lot. These are the ones that nicked the bikes outside Anfield of the people doing a charity ride for Hillsborough.
